Machine Head's sound quality was absolutely shocking on Friday

Ahhhhh I was so mangled and wasted during this, definitely helped me forget about the shit weather!

i used to be in a band. i am a rocker. i fucking love chase and status. i went to download. i saw allllll the headliners and loved all of them. those who disliked this just wernt there, man..

one of most energetic and bets acts at download, mosh pits to these and prodigy were insane

I was there they killed it regardless of whatever the haters said they worked the crowd so well and were well revived set the stage brilliantly for the prodigy

100% deserve that mainstage slot, Absolutly amazing better than The Prodigy! I had probably the most fun at their set over the whole weekend!

ok, i was at download and saw this set. Everyone appeared miserable on the friday, This set was loud, with awesome sound quality and the bass got the crowd jumping despite the weather. C&S with MC Rage did an amazing job and were well received by the vast majority, cannot fault them, despite myself being an avid metalhead

I went as a metal head.. Ive never heard of CnS untill then.. i was only there as an old school Prodigy fan so i pushed forward for CnS b4 Prodigy packed the arena... WHAT A F**KING SHOW..... I was in the pits rocking like I would To Lamb Of God or any other Metal I felt like was 17 again.... and honestly... they made Prodigy look bad... I got bored watching Prodigy after these... Ive now got something else to stick in my playlists now... GOOD FUCKING SHOW DOWNLOAD!!!! 2012

I'm not as into metal as I used to be but I think dnb/dubstep gigs have a lot of similarities. The most brutal mosh pits I've been in are at Chase & Pendulum gigs and I have seen Slayer and Devildriver.

i love chase n status and i love all electro/dnb/dubstep... i supported them being at download 2012 before they came on stage... i just felt angry when they actually came on. they dont belong at download...

Chase and status were by far the best band on the main stage on Friday. Granted I missed most of Machine Head (supporting The Defiled and While She Sleeps) but CnS were awesome! Prodigy also good, but my expectations left me slightly disappointed. At the front row for this. So good to see a perspective from the "Gods" so to speak.

Theres nothing wrong with that, music changes, crowds change. Bands are surfacing that are mixtures of genres and everyone seem's to appreciate this and the crowds for these bands are not usually either metal heads or your typical d&b crowd, people are mixing and its working. People shouldnt be expected to listen to one type of music, what if they want a break from it. Overall there was nothing wrong with C&S being at download and obviously the crowd loved it.

I thought they were brilliant, slow to start off with, but soon tore it up, metal fans should be able to appreciate different genres without being criticized for it, I love metal....but god we need alternatives, theres less and less decent metal bands coming through these days!

i enjoyed watching these guys. i haven't heard much of their stuff before other than what gets played in clubs n stuff. i think a lot of the energy of download just got sapped cos of all that shit weather and the mud.

People like you seem to never have any problem with The Prodigy being at Download...I mean, I love The Prodigy, don't get me wrong, but are they REALLY much different from Chase And Status in the things that you described? No.

It may have been the best band of the weekend for you because you are a fan of prodigy, but that doesn't mean that everyone but me thinks so. Personally, I thought that Black Sabbath was the highlight for me and probably a lot of others... Obviously Prodigy would have drew a large crowd because they were on the main stage... Besides... not everyone's a fan of slash who was on at the same time....

People need to learn how to open their minds a little more, they've got to realise genres change all the time, Rock has changed a lot from the 70/80s when you think about it, dubstep is becoming more included into this genre(example; Korn ft Skrillex), and it's not like they're wasn't similar things before that, The Prodigy, and Pendulum, fair enough not dubstep, but near enough. Chase and status were excellent, I thought they'd get bottled off but I'm glad they didn't!

Explain how they have to stick to one type of music, surely its best for the barrier between music genres to get thinner and people can stop judging people based on what music they listen to. People should be more open minded about music and the way its changing.

Also, Tom Morello is a skin-headed bloke in a baseball cap, so that insult is very unfounded

The only reason us metalheads are annoyed at this band being at Download is because Download has always been Rock and Metal, and nothing but Rock and Metal. There is only about two metal festivals each year in the UK so we want all the spaces to go to proper metal bands who never do gigs here... Chase and Status belong at Glastonbury or T In The Park or something... Download has always been a Rock/Metal festival, with alot of reputation round the world. Sorry to say, these guys are tainting it.

Because you will end with Festivals that used to be Download turn into things like V or Isle Of Wight! People are always going to judge people on there music type its fact of life I'm afraid! I can almost guarantee you wouldn't want you typical DnB crowd at Download in fact I would put money on it!!! Music is changing all the time but within our own genres!

Fear Factory were absolutely terrible, nearly as much as Chase and Status. From what I heard of Machine Head they sounded great although I was too busy running round in the pits.
