I hand fed my parrot from a really young age and she absolutely imprinted on me, she would not let me out of her sight, had to be wherever I was, had to be touching me. It was so special and I miss her so much 💔

That is too sweet, that you adopted him and bottle fed him from the beginning. Cats and dogs are SO smart that way - Chase KNEW you saved him from certain death, then he experienced this insane amount of love, cuddles, kisses, food, water, snacks, and every good thing in this world through your actions. You and Chase's human daddy earned his trust pretty fast, and considering the first 2 weeks of his life, and seeing how hard you worked to keep him alive, he I'd totally devoted to you both, and always worries that he might get abandoned again and he doesn't want that. It wouldn't shock me if I was correct on that one. I have had a few cats like that, as well as a few dogs. My current dog, a pitbull boxer mix, she had been abused in her original home by the other dogs, yet MY dog was the one they dumped off at the animal shelter. The tip of her poor tail was raw and bloody, all the hair had been torn out, there was blood all,over the walls of her cage, she was emaciated, underfed, and you could SEE both her ribs AND some scarring around where her ribs were. My mom, who was terrified of pitbulls, took to her immediately when she saw what had happened to her, I was won over the moment I laid eyes on her and vowed to give her the best life humanly possible.we adopted her 5 years ago this month, and my mom now LOVES pitbulls. Well, THIS one, at least.... she has never hurt anyone, an absolutely brilliant babysitter (she loves to "play games" with toddlers where she runs around them 3 - 4 times doing that crouch run, the toddlers start laughing their butts off, then she does it again, stops right in front of them again, panting and grinning, the toddler laughs even harder. She will keep doing that until she or the toddler are tired, but still - so obviously great kids. I would trust her implicitly with my own babies. Pets are such a joy and s blessing.

I have a new rescue who looks just like Chase. I saw him outside at a few months lost, but I couldn't get to him. 4 months later he came running to me, sick, staving, covered in bites and ulcers and his tail was so matted. My Peanut isn't as clingy but sticks to me like glue. He most likely spent most of his life as a kitten, fighting wildlife and struggling to eat on his own. I'm his healer, provider and someone who loves him and cares for him.

My husband and I adopted our first cat at a shelter and he was only 9 months old. He jumped right into my arms when I kneeled down to pet him. I'm so happy we found each other. People told me he was going to stop being super affectionate, he still loves to cuddle, still love belly rubs. Begs to be under the blanket, drools all over my neck and hair.

I think you're right! I bottle fed 5 abandoned kittens that were only several days old. They all became very close to me, even nursing on my sweater. Unfortunately I couldn't keep all of them so we adopted out 4 of them and I kept the runt.she is 3 now & still nurses on my sweater. She sleeps with me every night & let's me know when it's time to go to bed. She is by my side almost as much as Chase. 2 yrs later same situation happened again. Only a few days old I became her mom. She also nursed on my sweater. Eventually I found a blanket made out of same material, so now they can nurse side by side when we go to bed. Funny, they don't like milk or formula anymore, but they are very satisfied with their blanket, making biscuits & purring just like they did when I bottle fed them.

This is so true. I have bottle fed clingy cat too. She was also about 2 weeks old, even less, her eyes weren't open yet when her mom (street cat) just abandoned her right in front of my feet and left. We were waiting for her to come back, even went to look for her later on and when I found her she refused to accept her baby back. I kept offering her food, toys, new improvised bed in the back yard, she accepted everything but if I tried to give the baby to her, her mom would beat her, so I took her. Her name is Masha and she wants to cuddle 24/7. She has so much love to give, just like Chase
