Aeon is an absolute must. Its a bit of a different side of the band and the drumming in it is just mindblowingly good.

I agree, "Aeon" is a must. "Disobey" is a must listen, but offers less to react to. "Watch Me Burn" would be a close second to Aeon, and my preference in their music style!

100%, Aeon will absolutely destroy Chase’s perception of what this band can do. Having listened to two of the more tonally metalcore tracks and then going into Aeon will be a sight to see.

If you want their absolute filthiest down right nasty heavy stuff, "Disobey" is a must along with "Aeon". If you're want some lighter or on par with this song, "Devilcry" or "Omega" are my recommendations.

Crystal Lake is a perfect example of a band that doesn't take themselves too seriously and just has a ton of fun while still making good, heavy, music with a good dose of technicality. That's actually a good way to describe the Japanese scene as a whole, honestly.

I love your reactions so much! Most reaction channels are like "Maaan that´s heavy! I like it..." And then there´s you, going into technical details of the single instruments and vocals, explaining why certain parts are better than good, and what makes them this way. One of the best things to me about Crystal lake is that if you listen to 1 song from every album you can hear clear and massive progression on Ryo's vocal ability. One of the best growths in their specialty of any vocalist I've experienced in a bands existance.

Japan is killing it with Rock and Metal right now. They seem to have it all. Rock bands like Band Maid, Metal like Crystal Lake and Punk like BBQ Chicken (I get odd Metallica vibes), prog bands like Sokoninaru really show just sheer talent.

I know this is a little " old now " ( a whole four days I know so old ) but I just wanted to comment and say, I really enjoy your reactions. You have such a gentle voice it's very soothing which is ironic considering to the music haha. You also know music, you can actually breakdown songs and explain things that most people wouldn't even notice which is always nice to find out new stuff. That was awesome Chase. It was cool listening concurrently with you and over 200 viewers as well. Best reactor that I have watched for metal. Aeon or Omega has my vote, Aeon for sheer focus on Ryo’s range and brutality, Omega for that atmospheric and instrumentals that was showcased in this song.

Yeay one of my faves! Don't know what happened guess the RAM inside your head started reloading again because you were kinda static at 12:19 for a good 10 seconds. You always delivered. I found Crystal Lake through the opening for an anime, Mayday by Coldrain w/ Ryo, its less heavy than Crystal Lake's stuff but still a good song. Definitely worth checking out

If you can check Breakdown of Sanity, that would be amazing. They had a fantastic career until they split 2 years ago. They came back with a track named Traces. Really worth it. You can also check Infest, by the same band

Great analysis as always :) I recommend some Breakdown of Sanity for more top quality metalcore. Bulletproof, The Writer, Chapters or any other song really. Most of them don't have a music video but Bulletproof has an amazing fan made lyrics video.

Tuning is Drop F (on 7 strings guitars as you mentioned) and it indeed sounds deep and i recomand you to react to AEON next with a pitch drop to D1 for the breakdown with Drop F as main tuning

Let's go back a few years, to 2016. Looking for new music, I stumbled upon a reaction video by GALACTICRIMINAL. The band was Crystal Lake, and the song was Omega. That Blew. Me. Away.
