For the first time on this channel, In today’s video we join Chase for a track review of the 2024 Buell Hammerhead. You guys really enjoyed the First Ride so we thought, if it’s a supersport, why not bring it to our local track to see how fast we can get around on it. How will the Hammerhead handle the tight turns of Atlanta Motorsports Park? And will we get a better 40-80 time now that Chase adjusted the traction control? Today, we are finding out.

Everyone needs to experience these bikes. They are so different to what else is on the market (in a good way) that you have to feel what a bike with a good throttle is like, especially when metering out the kind of power the 1190 has in the midrange. Chase, you don’t need to worry about the traction control-when these bikes spin the rear on corner exit, they are super controllable because the torque falls off as the RPM rises. The original EBR bikes raced in AMA had no traction control while everyone else did and they were competitive right out of the box. You won’t die if the rear end spins up a little coming out of a corner, promise. ;)

It was when they got completely and utterly screwed over by Hero. They entered into a partnership where they were going to be develop some concept bikes and do R&D for them - tl;dr, EBR worked on 13 different bikes, yet Hero never paid them the $20M that was agreed to. That's how the company went down more or less, sadly.

I'm glad they're making bikes again. I love that it's a V-twin with few electronics. I just don't like the styling and price, it looks too American, it's hard to describe what that look is exactly but to put it briefly; The overuse of intake/exhaust vents that don't quite flow into the body shape. They're blatant and overconfident.

Love the Buells but you gotta talk about the shitty maintenance/parts part of this bike. Because of Buells weird chain setup, you have to have the chain bowstring tight. This causes the rear and front sprockets to wear down in less than 1k miles if you are actually wringing the bike out. Front sprocket cost $224 from Sweden and the rear cost another $120. You also have to stay in a lower gear constantly to keep the bike from lugging around, which exasperates the sprocket issue/wear. Best handling bike I’ve ever been on, but the cost/fun ratio is almost that of a Ducati.

why do you have to get off of one for another. I have a Triumph Daytona and a Buell XB9R. They are two completely different machines that ride completely different and I love them both. And don't call a Buell a Harley because the XBs motor was developed for the bike it is in specifically and the year after the sportster received some of that tec. back to 2008 Las Vegas HD Summer Dealer Meeting Erik Buell had a what some would say. One last go at it. And when I say that man was sick. That dude was flashing green to pale white....Palms sweaty, knees weak, arms heavy . holding his hands up to his face and peeking through his fingers. Hiding around a corner in a hallway. Bathroom behind him and further down. The emergency exit. Center stage was a bike. Black sheet hiding it from the audience. Sheet pulls and the 1125R revealed. Some cheers, some applauses, some Huh?s, one guy speed dialing the local equipment rental place asking if a crane was available that evening. And the rest looked like Chris Farley in Tommy Boy when David Spade opens the door and it falls off the hinges,,,!!?Whatdya dooo!!?...I wanted that bike badly and immediately. when I turned to the dealership owner. I got answered before saying anything in midturn. NO. You will break that too..Then I looked back at Erik and he was stuck in a one step forward and turn one away vice versa. Fight or flight. He chose to stay and fight. Glad he stuck around and shared his thought process. Good dude and his motorcycles are not for the easily distracted. Squirrel spotted midturn and that squirrel gonna have a Buell heading its way.

power delivery, the Buell's max HP/TRQ is sooner and broader. Handling, substantially more light footed on the Buell. Comfort, a Penigale is absolutely atrocious. And then the biggest one, maintenance/repair costs, the Buell is fairly simple and cheap; no more so than a KTM.

Seems like a great bike and I've always wanted this design to succeed, but it's just TOO EXPENSIVE. They're competing with the likes of Ducati, KTM and Aprilia with a bike that had known issues in the past, and from a brand name that has gone under multiple times. It has none of the fancy electronics that the other bikes do, and don't get me wrong, it's probably better for it, but you can't expect people to pay that much for a bike that doesn't even come with ABS. Tell me why I would buy this bike when I could just grab an RSV4 or Panigale V4?

Quick shifter ? You need to be way faster to make real use of a quick shifter.

It is so triggering for me to see you riding so slow on track and just talking while riding. I mean you seem to have rented the whole track so it wasnt dangerous to others but i dont see a point in track review if we only see you cruising very slowly the whole time

The problem is that Buell has amazing ideas, but they just don't appeal to the masses, and as a result, they keep going out of business and having to start over. Hard to build up market share when it crashes and burns once every decade...

My 28,000 mile 2013 Ducati 1199 with stock suspension and a slip-on has more power, weighs less than 400 lbs with a full tank, out handles, out brakes, out runs, out accelerates, and out 'Prima Donna's' this Buell. total investment is about $14,000. Take a hike Buell. I'll keep the Panigale.

Possibly the most boring "track" review I've seen. Maybe take some turns next time. No offense, just expected some epic knee dragging, and felt sort of catfished by the end.

Dogshit. People bitch and moan about supersports being too powerful and yet here Buell goes making the biggest they can think of. I don't want a 1200cc two cylinder end of story. Lost my interest right away. Guess I'll continue to wonder when America will make a PROPER supersport... something between 120 and 150 hp and between 600-850cc. Thats all I want. Not too big, not too powerful, peefect for the streeta or the highway. I couldnt fucking care less about some car sized two cylinder bike.
