Chasing Spooky Trees in Gale Force Winds: Moody Moorland Adventure | Bewcastle, Cumbria

Embracing the Elements I ventured into the heart of the forgotten moorland near Bewcastle, North East Cumbria, where spooky trees stood tall amidst a tornado-like windy day. The landscape was alive with a fierce energy, urging me to capture its wild essence through my trusty Canon EOS 5D Mark II EF 24-105mm f/4L and EF 17-40mm f/4L lenses.
Despite the gusty winds, I stayed determined until the end of the day, waiting for that perfect moment. And boy, was it worth it! As the sun dipped below the horizon, it painted the sky in hues of pink, creating a glorious cloudscape that took my breath away.
Sometimes, nature's most mesmerising moments come after enduring its fiercest displays. Here's to embracing the wild, the windy, and the wonderful!

This was lovely to watch. I spoke with you on Sunday before you took the picture of the last tree opposite my home. The route you took on this video is one I walk regularly with my fox terrier and I knew exactly which trees you would choose because I too have many pictures of the same three trees. The second one unfortunately was blown down earlier this year due to the high winds and was much more spectacular than it is now. I enjoyed this thank you

Thanks for watching. I was going to get closer but there was a blind corner and rise. Several speeding farmers went by in their pickups. To dangerous 😲

Great video (love the thumbnail). Your persistance paid off... shot at 9:09 is class. Hard damm conditions to get a shot but you pulled it off!

Thanks Richard. I thought the thumbnail might be a bit clickbaity. If the next video works out, it might have an interesting thumbnail and the conditions are even worse 🌪️🌧️

What crazy weather! We've just had our share too with some heavy rain and tornadoes...now the whole state is flooded. I don't do any astrophotography, but that last tree would make a great foreground for a Milky Way image! Loved watching the drive down the country road. Those cows can't be bothered to get out of the way, can they? Great stuff Andrew! Have a great weekend!

Thanks for watching Paul. Seen your weather on the news, crazy! It's been wet all winter here. You're right the tree would be good for astron. There is no towns directly to the south of it and it's in the middle of nowhere, as far as you can be around here. Those Belted Galloway cows are so chill it's hard to motivate them 🐂🤣 Have a great weekend too 😁
