Chasing Super Randonneur: Cycling Herentals' Audax 400 km Brevet for Paris-Brest-Paris Qualification

Are you ready to join us on our journey to become Super Randonneur and qualify for Paris-Brest-Paris?
In this video, we take on the qualifying brevet series of 200, 300, 400, and 600 km, checking out the 400 km brevet in Herentals, Belgium. This is part of a series of videos documenting our journey, which started with the pre-qualifier brevet of 1200 km to register in the first group for PBP.
We started the brevet at 4 am in Belgium when it was still dark so proper lights were needed, battling through warm and cold conditions until the sunrise. At each control point, we stamped our brevet cards, and most of the control points were bakeries or gas stations where we could resupply and get some food.
The route took us through three different countries - Belgium, Netherlands, and Germany - and after a long, windy day, we arrived back at the start point and finish line, completing the brevet on the road to Paris-Brest-Paris.

lol... every good brevet has the sheep! This is absolute truth! Where I do a lot of my riding we also get the cows, sometimes crossing the road at milking time.

@@Buzzalong.cycling it was a full value affair. 26:23. Daytime was rainy and windy. Night time was cold...just over freezing. I was dressed properly for all occasions but all that gear was packed in my bike when I wasn't wearing it. Great experience. Looking forward to faster 400s when the weather isn't so evil.

Congrats on finishing! As a side note, your rear light is obscured by the rear wheel, it may be a good idea to supplement it with a seat stay light or a light on the saddlebag. Ciao!

I like your channel. Your hands were cold? I use the Sealskin Merino wool gloves underneath my winter bicycling gloves. I cycle through the winter in NY State, they keep my hands nice and warm. Merino wool socks, cycling skull cap under helmet, neck/face gaiter, and layering clothes help to keep warm on cold winter days.

Thank you :) yes I use off road shoes for road and off road cycling because is more comfy for long distances and the walking thread is super useful. I have the Quoc shoes the gran tourer and for pedals from Shimano mtb pedals. Hope is useful
