So this video took months to make due to the amount of time needed to remove the old underseal correctly and then me dropping my spray gun and snapping the handle.
The end results are fantastic however if you are planning to do this to your Land Rover then make sure you have plenty of time to do it correctly as if you cut corners the chassis wont be protected correctly and you can actually speed up the corrosion preocess.
I hope you enjoy this video and i hope if give you an idea of what this job is like to do yourself.

Wow, that needle scaler gun is amazing. I did the whole rear underside of my Integra using poly wheels. It was an absolute bastard of a job. If I knew these needle scalers existed it could have saved me a bit more time. I was on it for months, laid on my back on a garage floor with the car on axle stands, never again!

I feel your pain mate. Cant imagine what that must have been like! The needle scalers are a great tool although the neighbours might not like them 🤣

...yay!..the new part for the spray gun arrived :) .......looking very nice now... ....and no-one has ever admitted to seeing me on the street....but then again I live in the middle of nowhere and am a grumpy old sod!

I couldnt believe there was a shortage on spray guns 🤣. We were away in a caravan park and a guy pulled up with a 110 (Great Setup) The day after he saw me walking the dog and asked me whens next video up. I didnt know what to say at first as i was in shock 🤣 couldnt believe someone recognised me!

So what would happen if you were to clean back to shiny metal and use nothing but Lanoguard, straight on the shiny metal?

Not sure how long it would last but have a look on the Lanoguard website. Mark has written on a saw in Lanoguard and left it outside for a few days. Everything is rusty apart from where hes written Lanoguard.

Just came across your channel, you are doing a excellent job on the chassis, when you were using tne neddle gun/sanding, should you not have had some type of face mask on? And yes 6have subscribed, keep safe and well.

Thank You! Yes I should have done but it was when i was breathing it was fogging up my goggles so I couldnt see 🤣 it was quite windy and it was blowing most of the dust away.

Thank you! Yes the paint is Red Oxide metal primer (3 coats). The Black paint is Tetrosil Chassis paint and my spray gun is from Machine Mart: Part number SP18C 👍

Get a Schutz gun with an extension flexi tube/ sideways blowey nozzle & blow the inside of the chassis to the point of saturation with ATF - put down some cardboard to catch early drippage. ATF murders rust & these rot from inside out not outside in. Splurge on a 5l jug of fresh ATF - well worth it in the long run. I cut a lot of these chassis' open doing repairs to them & what can look like a very Posh one on the outside can often be in absolute tatters inside. The ATF will settle in the low spots - which is also where water settles - doing it during a good dry spell is best as otherwise if a lot of water is trapped inside the oil will float.... but treat the inside. Inside is tres important & wax.oyl is muck compared to ATF, ATF has ALL the good stuff added at the factory. It is pretty much the best anti-rust liquid going by design - rust is death to auto-boxes, so half of ATF's "work" in a gearbox is keeping it shiny.. On the bits of the outside that are REALLY prone to rust - you know the ones - paint on (with a brush) some Hammer Grease - it's black, sticky & nothing it touches will ever rust again, pretty much ever. Don't go mad - but them nooks & crannies that trap dirt/muck/water respond beautifully to a good brushing with hammer grease - seams especially. Hammer grease is the rust-prevention material underseal pretends to be but isn't.. Whatever gets brushed with hammer-grease forgets about rusting, pretty much. You could chuck it in the sea & it wouldn't rust. You can - as it happens - paint already surface rusted steel with hammer grease & forget about it rusting any more - even with zero surface prep. The rust will just give up as it knows it's beaten. For the fancy-minded, you can make a brew using hammer grease that is sprayable - whereby you have hit next-level rust killing territory...

Hammer grease is also your best Pal when assembling anything that might corrode if left untreated - it combines being one of the best quality lubes available with being black for aesthetics - plus it has so many anti-corrosives added from the factory, nothing you assemble using hammer grease will ever rust - ever - use it on shock mounts, body bolts, axle fittings - anything where you want a lube, an anti-seize plus corrosion protection. A dab onto a bolt head & 10 years later that bolt head will be like brand new under the grease. It becomes hugely useful once you know what it is/does. For stuff you want to never rust But also don't want to have it covered in black gunk - use humble Vaseline - or any knock off version of vaseline - I.E petroleum jelly. Lidl do a knock off version cheap. This starts becoming useful around windscreens, or on hinges - seen stuff - it too can go onto pretty much unprepared metal & will stop rust dead in its tracks for years. Vaseline - works great on rust - as well as for back doors. Vaseline, ATF, hammer grease, epoxy primers - your friends in the War on rust. Everything else - pretty much - is Pish. Them & a big sandblaster. A big sandblaster is always handy.

Thank you. I have no idea what brand it is. I bought it from an indutrial dealer a few years ago in a 20L tub as a bulk buy. There was no brand name on it.

Thank you. I bought them in bulk from an industrial sale so I have no idea what brand they are. All i knkw if its brilliant suff to use and will be buying more to keep in stock. Have a look at the video I did in the channel. Its 10 month after I sprayed it.
