Pete would be a WONDERFUL PRESIDENT! And Chasten would make an amazing first lady😄! Both are highly intelligent and incredibly calm - which counts in these tumultuous times. They both have a sense of humor (a sign of intelligence, among other things), and both are very confident, which makes them resilient. Overall, they are one of the most evenly matched couples on the current American political scene.

Moreover, even Fox like him (sort of, lol), so, he has a good prospect even among some Republican voters, I guess.

Have things only gotten worse? I think it's awesome we can have an interview with the husband of an openly gay senior Executive Branch official and Colorado has the first openly gay Governor in America. Homosexuality was illegal in England and Wales until 1967, illegal in Scotland until 1980, and illegal in Isle of Man until 2011. I see progress and things getting better but we do have a huge way to go still.

I understand, when my daughter came out, at 14, I sobbed. Not because of her coming out, I already knew, but because I would not be able to protect her from the world she would face. She just turned 35 and I'm still a momma bear. 🌈

When my daughter came out, I did a happy dance, because I am less afraid of homophobia than I am of toxic masculinity. The things my daughter tells me about the boys her age *scare* me.

As a non-American, Pete was my pick for president in 2020 and was so excited when he won in Iowa and came a close second in New Hampshire. It's said that he could never win the black vote - I hope all people see Pete for who he _actually_ is and not what they _think_ he is because of one little three-letter word.

I absolutely agree 100%! Since I first heard of Pete, I have pushed for him to to become President. There is not a single attribute of either Pete or Chasten that I don't see as a plus as a First Family and President. I am disappointed that he will most likely not run in 24 if V.P. Harris runs. As much as I would like to see a female president, I desperately believe that there is no one in this country who could match the abilities and personal attributes of Pete with Chasten behind him!!!

My only concern, really, is the reality that though there's a great deal less homophobia and a great more acceptance of LGBTQ+ people in this country, there is a goodly chunk of people who are homophobic. Having said that, a lot of people told me that Obama was unlikely to win because of his race, but I didn't think that back in the 2006 - 2008 period because he was just so on the money as far as his ideas and vision was concerned, and he was highly articulate, not to mention charismatic and funny. And at the time, I'd lived in L.A. pretty much my entire life and didn't think prejudice was what it once was. But once Obama was elected and the racists came out of the woodwork, I realized just how much prejudice and bigotry there still was, and how naïve I was to have thought otherwise. And ever since Trump began running in 2014, the rise of hatred towards anyone who isn't white, male and Christian has further blossomed. Race and antisemitism-based mass shootings have risen dramatically, women's healthcare choices have been reversed or at least significantly curtailed, and the LGBTQ+ community is under siege, particularly the trans community. On top of that, African-Americans have traditionally been less accepting of gay people, et al, and they represent a sizeable and crucial block of Democratic voters. If they're not so hot on having Pete be president because of his sexual orientation and aren't motivated to go out and vote, that's going to be a HUGE problem. So TBCH, I am a little unnerved by all that. That said, the majority of people in this country DON'T have issues with matters gay, and Pete is a truly outstanding person of exceptional character, so it's not like I have no hope. I do. It's just a bit more weary and tempered than it was when Obama first ran.
