Today we have a chatty GRWM as I create a lightweight summer glam makeup look for a night out while talking about the books I've read so far this year (a lot of BookTok Recommendations)! I've finished 12 books, and I'll be sharing mini reviews and ratings of each one while trying to not give too much away-- in case you want to read them yourself! I absolutely love reading so I'm excited to blend these two passions of mine and connect with any other readers in the Slashed Squad!

Omigosh! Never have I clicked on a video so fast! Books and make up?!?! My two favorite things!!! What a cool idea! As I was watching this, I had a Stepbrothers moment: (Will Ferrell) "Did we just become best friends?" (John C Reilly) "Yep!" Please do more videos like this! (I loved Mad Honey and can't wait to hear your thoughts!) I also agree with your opinions on ACOTAR! My favorite reads this summer so far have been _Ask for Andrea_ and _Never Lie_ (Frieda McFadden). I wonder, too, if you'd like Emily Henry, Lucy Foley, or Lisa Jewell?!? Jodi Picoult never disappoints me, either! (Maybe toss in some summer beach reads by Elin Hilderbrand?!?!) I liked Frieda McFadden's housemaid series (have read only the first two) so I'm definitely open to trying her other books! I've only read Happy Place by Emily Henry which was kinda meh for me, but we have Funny Story coming up in my book club so I'll be giving her another chance!

I have really bad eyes and wearing glasses gives me migraines. So, I lost the ability to sit and read books. Ever since I was in my early 20s. So, I can’t relate to the book part. I do love to watch you put on makeup, though. I’ll watch and support the video. Also, there’s NO WAY IN HELL I could put makeup on in that weather. It gets in the 90s here and now that I’m over 40, I can’t handle it without makeup. Let alone with makeup. You are a soldier!

Have you given audiobooks a try? My husband prefers listening to books because he does it while he plays video games or exercises! And yeah- the heat’s crazy but at least it’s dry heat 🤣🤣

Elizabeth Strout's 4 Lucy Barton books were wonderful, I felt. Also the Rosie Project books (3) by the Aussie writer Graeme Simsion. My favorite author is Ann Patchett; also love Liane Moriarty. Start with What Alice Forgot, if you haven't read any of hers yet!📚

I feel like those who were heavily into makeup like 4-5 years ago are now in the book community lol If you like the magical realism genre, I suggest Weyward by Emilia Hart, almost anything by Heather Webber and Sarah Addison Allen.
