Unlike in India, local electricity dept takes really long time to restore power. You guys need inverter generator which are compact and quite.

Nature is powerful. Think of installing solar power.

For some reason in Canada, at least HydroOttawa is very slow with things. Last May it took them 10+ days to restore entire power, and volunteers even came from US to help with restoration. In US, once I saw a huge storm in which traffic light and poles had fallen on roads everywhere. Still power was restored in 6 hours. Ottawa and Canada is in general too ill-prepared. This is not fault of workers but the crooked high level management which doesn't take initiates like taking wires underground which is case in most major cities in US. Same goes for poor quality roads in Ottawa, which people say is due to salt and weather. Wisconsin and Minnesota have similar weather conditions as Ottawa but their roads are much more better.

It proves that gernator is life saving
