this just shows that we do not force them!! when chautauqua wants to run, the other horses do not stand a chance against him! he can be a beast when he wants to be, but he’s the type of horse that shows the humans how it’s done and that’s the good type of horse! they did the right thing and retired him! chautauqua is one of the few horses that don’t want to race, and the owners and the rest of the industry accepted it and retired him to a great home! i respect your opinion and i understand what you were trying to say! 🥰🏇🏼

He’s done, as a previous commentator has said. You can see on his face, he really means it, not taking a single step despite all the jockey’s efforts. God Bless this beautiful horse, he’s free. I hope he’s enjoying a wonderful retirement in a beautiful pasture with other equines.

It’s almost never about the money for people in the horse racing industry. In the end of the season they usually break even, they don’t make lots of money. Kinda funny that anti racers base everything on the fact that horse racing makes lots of money... do some research- in most cases it doesn’t. Yes Chautauqua Didn’t want to run but they tried to race him because he had potential. He loved running he was super fast and he definitely had a great personality. So if you think that his owners wanting money is the only reason he was raced, think again bitch.

This video might lead to questions in some people's eyes but there is another chapter to this magnificent equine's story in another video posted on YT. It is called Chautauqua's New Journey and it gives a great insight into what often happens with thoroughbreds once their track careers is over. Given Chautauqua's unbelievable feats on the track I reckon that spirit could lead him to an excellent showjumping career and who knows, an appearance at global or indeed, Olympic level. He is the best after all.

Fuck i still crack up at that night $1m Manikato he was in perfect condition to win the race and it makes me laugh that the whole time they were being put in the barriers he was thinking watch what im going to do and to even fly Tommy back from Hong Kong to see if he would run for him, its a funny story, they jump snd he just says NA not tonight im over it and even by not jumping i will be the Star of the night. He won $8million what more did they want, but its great to see him in show work now he has the perfect personality for it and the looks and would be great to maybe 1 day see him at an Olympics and winning a Gold medal now there's a movie right there. On ya Flash, punters got their money back so no hurt done.

Horses are not forced to run. They are a very intelligent specimen. If they sense that something isn't right, they know what to do. Have you ever tried to force a horse to move when it doesn't want to? Good luck with that! 😂

Poor guy. Maybe fed up with giving it all and being whipped during the finish no matter if he is already running like hell.... Horses refuse to do their job if this job is unbecoming, hurts or horrifies them. Mostly, its pain. In this case, he won so much so he is not deposed at the horse butcher like so many other thoroughbreds. But maybe still if he refuses to reproduce? Mankind is relentless. :(

Chautauqua is now known as "Sharky" and is being trained as a show horse. Look up "Chautauqua's New Journey". He's a gelding, so he's not even able to reproduce.

You do know that even pets wind up at the butcher right? There are bad people and desperate people in every aspect of life. Many rich people's horses have wound up in kill pens. It's not general practice. Most race horses live a better life than pets who wait in a stall for days on end for their owner to show up and take them out.

@@MollyGrue1 That's my point. You are responsible. And there are irresponsible owners whose horses end up in kill pens. Same as in horse racing. It's not the sport. It's the people. Same people who will fight dogs instead of love them.
