In a lecture that tackles Darwin, the Higgs boson and even Star Trek, Krauss offers some insight into today's quibbles that begin with the question: "Why?" Science, Krauss explains, does not point to a larger significance. This conversation with Krista Tippett, radio host and producer, rounded out Week Three's afternoon interfaith lecture series.

We aught to rephrase the way we talk about the cosmos. I wouldn't say a star dies. It does come to and end of existence as a star when it runs out of fuel and implodes. Sometimes a star leaves behind a core that is no longer called a star. A living life form is what dies and what remains is transformed through the process of decay back into more fuel for other forms of life.
