The power dynamic was totally unmatched. Dame was bigger, stronger, and had way more experience. The fact they made him fight dirty was unnecessary. He was the overall better fighter from the start

Dame had more experience? What? This was his debut professional fight, Chavez was the Champion. Chavez had wayyyy more experience. Dame may have been the man in the junior leagues but he spent the past 20 years in prison. No sparring, no trainer, no licensed fights. They played the dynamic of these two characters perfectly for this fight. Dame is the former rising star who's career was tanked before it got started, but still had his IQ and a few dirty tricks to level the playing field against a more experienced and YOUNGER boxer. Even Mike Tyson looked like shit his first fight back from prison, and that was AFTER about 1/5th of the time Dame did and he had dozens of professional fights and became champion. Dame coming out and dominating in his first fight as a pro against the current champion without playing dirty, while having been inactive for 20 years, would have been to unrealistic even for a rocky/creed movie

I rooted for Dame in this movie for many reasons .. He took the Rap for defending Adonis while he runs away leaving Dame to do the time never even went to visit him and became everything Dame should have been...Anyone would have a chip on there shoulder for that... And he didn't even take the handout of money Donnie was about to give him he wanted to earn it himself...

Dame was a dirty fighter for sure. He had kneework to open up in the clinch, elbows, was punching when the bell rang. These weren't decisive but they definitely helped skew things in his favor.

Dame should’ve got his warning after the double knee strikes then disqualified after his third illegal hit the elbow. Besides that rest of his moves were legal

Dame nearly broke that left arm. Every round he punched just the left arm more than once. So Felix was forced to use only his right when he’s a southpaw. Hitting really low near the belt kidney strikes are illegal in boxing look it up if you want. Dame also kneed him twice in the first round he cheated each round. Round two dame should’ve been disqualified with the elbow using now 3 illegal strikes

That’s why Dame got a warning when he fought creed. Dame was just fortunate the ref didn’t call him out on every illegal strike
