CHEAP 144hz Ultrawide Monitor on Amazon! [HKC TG34C3U Review]

In this review of the HKC TG34C3U 34" Curved Ultra Wide Monitor, we test out functions, then see how well it works with current PC titles, and then see how it fares in gaming with modern, and retro consoles including the PS4, PS3, Xbox360, Sega Megadrive 2 Mini, The A500 Mini, and a real A600 using the RGB2HDMI.
This HKC-TG34C3U Curved Gaming Monitor seems to currently only be available on Amazon Japan at the moment, but it may be available soon around the world.
The MSI Optix MAG342CQR seems to be the "Real" version of this monitor with (what seems to be) a better UI included.

Contrast Ratio: 200000:1, 3000:1 when ASCR is off
Viewing Angle: 178 degrees up and down, 178 degrees left and right

Ports: 1 DP, 2 HDMI 2.0, 3.5 Audio Jack
Features: AMD Freesync Premium, HDR, PIP, Side by Side, crosshair

Never mind the ghosting. Amiga was the sign that this is an excellent choice. You can't beat the price for this amount of screen real-estate.

It does look good on some games. Darius Chronicles i always wanted one of these ultra wide screens. The telly that has my interest at moment, though well out of my budget, is the Samsung Sero LS05B QLED. That can rotate to vertical easily and i imagine would look amazing playing MiSTer Tate mode cores on it

Regarding Darius CS, I wish they'd have thought a bit more regarding scalability. Games nowadays are all rendered in 3D anyways so I bet there's not really much work to it.

I'd definitely test out the sega model 3 emulator with the added geometry mode on. I bet Daytona USA 2 and Virtua Fighter 3 would look amazing!

I have an ultrawide and an ultra-ultra wide. Honestly the regular ultrawide is about right. The ultra-ultra-wide is cool but is better for work oriented tasks. You have to move your head around to check the game's UI and can be a pain. And some games will only work in 16:9 anyway.

The crosshair feature s something I've never seen before, you should have tried an FPS to see how it does!

I uh... Tried it out properly yesterday... The AWP isn't that great unscoped, but the crosshair does it's job. Won't help Joe Blade out though 😁 How's your new year been?

Hi Bro. I live in Tokyo and just pulled out my old (G6 Goldensky gamebox) being stuck to the controllers in the built in system drives crazy. I was wondering if there was a way to install batocera or something else into its flash memory. Do you have any advice on what to do with it?

Tokyo!!! Woah, not heard anyone use the G6 in a LOOONG while. - Use the PandoryTool and jailbreak it! You will be able to install retroarch through Android, but outside that, it's probably better to use the base system and add more games... Again ... Using Pandory ;-) Throw all the 32X games on.

HDR video looked better when HDR was switched off. The PC racing game did look rather nice. A mixed bag though.

I had a nothing special Samsung 24" which broke after 2 years of intensive use. Bought myself an LG and I'll never buy anything other than LG again.

Every monitor has a lifespan. It's pretty shocking but a family member got one of those huge OLED TVs under my recommendation. Looks great... Until ... The middle of the screen started losing the red colour. Breaks my heart.
