Hello, when you get the the end of a row, and turn around how does the seed stop coming out of the shoots/tines

I work for a ag dealer that can get these drills. Different folks have ordered them cause of the price. The longest one that lasted was 2 weeks. One guy broke the frame on the openers, and bent the frame that the rolling basket bolts to. The other guy lost 2 opening disk the same day he picked it up from us. I guess different strokes for different folks.

I figured it wouldn't last too long. I mainly bought it to see if a seed drill would be beneficial to our operation. If I used it a lot, I planned to buy a quality one. Thanks 🙂

Brian -How much do they run ? And how much is the least expensive quality one ?

Rye is only fussy with the seed depth. Heavy seeding probably won't hurt. Around me they plant Rye for a winter cover crop. Some hay it before they spray, but plant soybeans. Dad did that 60 years ago. It's good to see old technology in use. Keep notes. The grain drill should be alright. Thanks Chris.
@dehavenfamilyfarm2 жыл бұрын
Keeping notes is a great idea 🙂 Thanks Bryce!!

I got 1 similar, However don't try to turn with it. I broke an outside disc , a bolt broke but a special shaped 1. You cant buy them ,I had to make a new 1 on the lathe, which was a hassle. So lift and turn. I'm not sure how long it will last. All the instructions are in chinese and so are the labels on the unit. Thanks for the vid.

It's interesting enough. I'll be looking for a crop update on that field to see what the stand looks like. Regards!

I would like to know how it planted cause the front box I don’t will be for drilling seed but more for planting corn or beans in rows

Looks like the Cheap Grain Drill worked pretty good overall. Hopefully your seed rate wasn't too far off. Take care.
@dehavenfamilyfarm2 жыл бұрын
It seemed to work OK. Definitely too light on the seed rate, but something should grow 🤣 Thanks Ron!
@coffeebuzzz Жыл бұрын
It sounds like it needs some lubrication. It'll last longer and be less annoying whent using it.

I'm curious how well your seeding turned out with your drill and also the price of it?
@dehavenfamilyfarm Жыл бұрын
It turned out ok- I had it set so it planted the seed to deep. Overall it worked ok. I don't remember the price off hand, but I am sure it is a lot more now than when I bought mine. Thanks 🙂

@TheGrumpyFarmer2 жыл бұрын
Nelson could be planting soybeans with that 😁 most of those same things are plastic on the big grain drills also Chris

It is ok- not bad for small fields and easy to haul to projects. Thank you! It took a long time to get to 6k 🤪

@@TheGrumpyFarmer Thanks for the info! I wasn't sure whether the plastic parts were normal or just on this drill because it was cheap 🤣

Good looking drill.. some of the big names make some pretty cheap drills. Seed cups are all plastic now.. so can't really knock it there.. seed charts are a joke on some too... Now to see if it planted the seed upside down, or right side up...

Thanks for the laugh Ed.

You don’t want to use the word “cheap”. You want to use the word inexpensive. Inexpensive just sounds so much classier. Lol

When using a smaller drill then the tractor you have have them tread ruts. If you had the right match up with tractor and drill it would of turned out better
@dehavenfamilyfarm Жыл бұрын
I agree- I just don't have a smaller tractor 🙂
@webincomeincome8767 Жыл бұрын
Seems generally, cheap rarely works well nor lasts very long.

Why bother buying a seed drill if you cultivate? Just use a spreader
