I purchased two of these cheap 48v/14Ah batteries off Aliexpress back before Christmas (2019). But I just got around to actually testing them. I put both of them, in parallel, on my 1000w bike. It ran well but ran down fast. The $350 batteries give around 1.5 hour drive time. The cheap batteries lasted barely 30 minutes before they died. I will never buy a cheap battery again. You get what you pay for.

The point is not who made it, but maybe they are not all connected and are just filled with sand. But the given 14000ah is not that excessive. Sometimes 50-100000 is given with this size.

I've bought a cheap LitoKala battery from Ali, for my eScooter. Can't complain, its better than the original one that died in 6 months. The trick is you have to ignore the description (14Ah/20Ah/40Ah...) and calculate the Ah yourself assuming they are using 2300mAh - 2500mAh cells. So a 13S3P battery is about 7 - 7.5Ah.
@VictorIbelles
@VictorIbelles 2 жыл бұрын
The thing is that get the ah from multiplying number of cells x ah in every cell ignoring if its series or parallel For example there’s a 10s4p one that says 100 ah. They got the number by multiplying 2.5ah x 40 cells = 100

I bought a 48V/99999mAh pack but it got wet and a few weeks after it dried off, it wouldn't charge any more. But it had 3.67 volts left after testing it with the multimeter. Can this battery pack be fixed?
@rickrandazzo
@rickrandazzo 11 ай бұрын
Sounds like the BMS got fried. If you're into soldering you can try replacing the BMS. You just have to figure out the Serial/Parallel set up and order appropriately. Even then you may need to disassemble the whole pack and check each battery. A daunting task either way. I've got three dead battery packs that I'm about to chunk because it's just not worth my time.... Sorry for your loss.....

Length looks right, 13x18mm and a bit, so 48 volts, 54.6v full (or close). Depth is about right 65mm. Width looks like 3 batteries (3x18mm). Or 4x 18mm, say 4 inches So if cheap battery 3x1500maH=4.5maH. If panasonic NCR18650B 4x3500=14maH.

Did you check with the instruments how much watts those two batteries really give together or how much in your estimation they really give watts?
@rickrandazzo
@rickrandazzo 3 жыл бұрын
The LED readout has a watt reading on it. With the other batteries I use it will hit up to 900 watts at times. These just made it a little over 700, never hitting 800 watts. So the performance was not as good. Also, the lead wires are a smaller size than the other batteries so that may be a bottleneck as far as being able to supply enough current. I did have the two batteries in parallel. I never tried using only one battery.

Hello Rick: Thank you for this video. Everybody who works DIY-wise has at least seen once these "Panasonic" 48 Volt, 14'000 mAh battery packs in the WWW. What the Chinese do is scam, because it's not original/authentic/genuine Panasonic. These cells might be fake Panasonic and for Chinese fakes might be normal, but they use a famous name of a famous product and send customers fakes. Again: This is scamming. It should be completely forbidden. Panasonic should fight against it, but maybe they don't want to fight, because there would be too many cases or something. But you as customer have the right to get what it says - the original/authentic Panasonic and nothing else. Complain at Aliexpress and get your money back. To proof the fake cells just buy at least 1 original Panasonic cell and compare from the weight, the fully loaded capacity/voltage, discharge - just everything. How are your experiences with the other bigger packs that you have longterm? Can you ride for hours?
@rickrandazzo
@rickrandazzo 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comments. The "real" batteries I buy are 48v/20Ah and usually cost around $300. Since the motors are 48v/1000w we expect about one hour ride time. My experience has proven one and a half hours. What is interesting is that I have tested this with several different bikes, batteries and motors. Batteries are the prime example of "you get what you pay for".

They can't fight it because of china's non-existant laws on copyright infringement. It's why bootlegging and counterfitting runs rampant in china because there's no regulation.
