This is my long-term review of the RioRand outdoor camping cookware backpacking bowl pot + mini canister stove burner foldable 2-piece set. I found it on Amazon for only $33 Canadian (I think it's less now, and it seems to go on sale often). The kit comes with a two-piece pot set and a small gas burner. It hasn't let me down at all.

I've had a bunch of different stoves...MSR, jet boil etc. My wife and I caved and bought the same little amazon stoves about four years ago now. We use them all the time and they have failed ZERO times. Really dig them a lot and hope, eventually, they update / fix the little folding pot holders. For the price, though.....10/10!

Got a similar set except from Wallyworld (end of season sale). The silicone handle covers are burgundy instead of green and the burners box is black instead of orange (I put bright green tape on it so I didn't loose it in the dark). I got a couple of titanium pots (the bigger expensive one a gift) because they didn't have silicone on the handles and silicone burns on open fires. If for some reason I couldn't have gotten another pot I'd have removed the silicone from the handles and got on with it, nothing wrong with these pots.

@VincentGilligan

It should last if you’re not too rough with it. For the price you can’t expect too much but it’s held up for me just fine. I use a billy can or a stainless set if I plan on tossing right on the fire though.

Thanks for the review! How long does a gas tank last?
@VincentGilligan
@VincentGilligan 2 жыл бұрын
Depends on tank size, how often you’re using it, wind, temperature and a few other variables. It’s hard to say truly though because I’m bad for never letting the tanks go until fully empty. I will say they last longer than expected.

I've been trying to find out how much gas it consumes , so I can calculate how many gas cans should I buy !!! Do u have the grams per hours measure of gas consumption?
@VincentGilligan
@VincentGilligan 3 жыл бұрын
No, I don’t think they have that information available. But it depends on how often you’re using it. If you only need it for coffee in the morning and maybe heating soup at night a small canister should last a few trips. I’ve never run out a can fully so it’s hard to say. Whenever I get low I grab a new one. I have quite the collection of nearly spent cans now lol
@danburch9989
@danburch9989 3 жыл бұрын
Too many variables involved. Cold temperatures require more fuel. If you set the flame to high (such as boiling water) will consume more fuel than if you are just simmering dinner. From a website: Some examples of the wide variables (time/fuel): MSR Windburner 95m/4oz; MSR Pocket Rocket 60m/8oz; Snow Peak Gigapower 50m/4oz; MSR WisperLite 138m/20oz

How much burn time do you think you’ll get out of it with that can you have now?
@VincentGilligan
@VincentGilligan 2 жыл бұрын
It depends on altitude and many other factors. But if I had to guess, I’d say anywhere from 25-30 minutes. I’ve never run one dry. When they get low I always grab a full one lol maybe I’ll do a video showing run time on a continuous burn.

Not really a review, you just told us "it works" 🙄 😕 Boil time? Is the cup and pan non stick? Are the handles firm or gone wobbly? Is the range good on the stove? Is the connection to the cannister still tight? Come on man
@VincentGilligan
@VincentGilligan 3 жыл бұрын
There are too many factors to give accurate boil times. It’s not non stick, but I’m sure the manufacturer would have all the information you need. If anything was wrong after my usage, I would’ve mentioned it. My opinion on a very budget friendly option, is that it’s worth the money. No one is mistaking this for a JetBoil.
