Today our video is about the original minivan: we will talk about the last generation of Dodge Grand Caravan. On this test, we have almost the last produced Grand Caravan which was build in July 2020 but production of this vehicle was stopped in August 2020.
In this video, we will cover Caravan's competitors Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, and Nissan Quest. As usual, we will talk about specs, reliability, futures, and maintenance cost. We will show you how the car looks underneath so you have some idea how the Dodge Grand Caravan is protected from rust. We will also perform the road test and let you know how we feel about this minivan.

In 2002, we bought the least reliable car in the world, a Dodge Caravan SE with a sluggish 4 cylinder engine. We drove it everywhere to Utah, Nevada, Arizona, all over California and a million other local errands through the years. Funny but it's 2021 and we're still driving it today! It was supposed to disintegrate in as little as 5 years but it just keeps on running. Never had any transmission problems either. Now, the 2022 model looks inviting. .

I bought an 03 it was a great vehicle. I then bought a 07 is has 300,000 miles on it and is still running great. I have a 2011 also that I drive while my husband has taken over the 07 for a work van. I love my vans and I'm sad that Dodge isn't producing any Grand caravans anymore

Same with our 1999, we bought it brand new for $15k and put 200k miles on it. Very little maintenance as well.

I am using a 2004 Dodge Caravan now in Sept 2021. Replaced many parts easy but also abused the car. 240.000km on it. Got it in 2010. The car had an accident with previous owner. I do change myself the trany oil and filter. Engine motor just once a year with Castrol synthetic. In order to keep at bay the rust I do treat the car with Krown rust protection once every two years. So far I don't have rust and I live in Canada the place of salt and snow during winter time. Based on your review you convinced me to replace my donkey when it will die with another newer version of caravan. I compare my caravan with a donkey because I used as such, heavy load and use it with no reserve, I don't go easy on it. Cheers and Thank you.

Maintenance, Maintenance, Maintenance! That is key! People think I am crazy for buying a used 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan with 167,000 documented miles. Owned by someone who religiously maintained his van. I just love my van, the hell with all the nay sayers.

I have the 2011 and looking to upgrade to 2020. Best vehicle I've ever owned. Most comfortable too for travelling and great for renovations on my properties.

I have a 2011 my only issue was the fuel pump relay. I had to get a wire to bypass it. I had intermittent starting issues so after I bypassed the fuel pump relay it's been great 🤞🤞

The Dodge grand caravan is one of the best and cheapest family van you can own it’s really affordable and reliable Used to own a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica, S red edition Purchase it for $57,000 And payments was 747 a month a year later, someone rear ended the van insurance paid it off then I went to go purchase a 2019 Dodge grand Caravan GT all black with 47,000 miles only paid 23,000 and some change Car payment $385 what a big difference both vans feel the same but the Chrysler has a longer nose so when you come off driveways usually has the front end but I don’t have that issue with the grand caravan same engine and say everything

Thanks for the video. I loved my 2012 Grand Caravan, with no special options. I just traded in for my new, fully loaded 2020 Premium Plus Grand Caravan. I can hardly wait.

I had a 2002 dodge caravan. First owner replaced the transmission, second owner replaced the transmission, i replaced the transmission, second time i had it crushed. Now im driving a 2017 dodge Caravan and.... transmission issues. Less than 150,000 miles. It's a beast, all right lmao

Just got a 2006 T&C with 240k miles and it's rust free and otherwise cleaning up nicely. Going to put on later Caravan R/T or SXT black wheels and the "spyder" style headlights

MY 2017 Crew Plus has done everything we needed it to. Take kids and all their stuff to college, take 6 adults in air conditioned comfort on a road trip (and all their stuff), watch DVD movies on the head unit while the wife is shopping in the mall. The power flip open 3rd quarter windows are a God send when you have little kids in the back and they are starting to get car sick. (The Pacifica's rear quarter windows don't open up). The new generation of minivans are better in some respects, but for sheer value, you can't beat the GC.

@@markleckband4495 I’m sure the Pacifica’s an all around better vehicle, but the cost difference between the the GC and the Pacifica for a similar trim level was $15000. So I opted for the GC, and put running boards on it , and I’m a happy van guy. And I’ve got two glove boxes….

I bought a 2019 GT with 75000 miles. It had a bad torque converter. The dealership fixed it. I am hoping it will last. I couldn't stomach a 50,000 dollar Sienna.

you Should change the oil every 6 months and make sure you also change oil in the transmission too and other kinds service. and make sure you keep the rust away both under and above. And i would prefer Honda, Toyota/Lexus and mazda is the best ones in my opinion.

I've owned 3 dodge grand caravans good Vans . Unless you want pay double the price for a honda odyssey and all Vans have problems. Save 25,000 thousand dollars 💸

Great review!! Lots of picks right now if you're looking for a roomy travel van; you never hear video reviews talk about how to AVOID issues by switching to upgraded, heavy-duty (i.e. spark plugs, brake pads) etc. We just want to go cross country and back, sleeping in the van for convenience. Have a 2000 Honda Accord that's doing SO well, so the Dodge won't be a forever van. I just don't want it to break down in a desert or climbing the mts. to Denver! Quick question: what make of tires DO you suggest (staying with the 17"s...) than the Yokohamas on your demo van? Well done; thanks.

I have a 2019 GT. I put ceramic brakes on it after reading reviews about some people having almost annual brake changes. Haven't touched then since. It's a great vehicle though I'm rather nervous about the "no service" transmission.

Молодец! Excelent revue! My favorite van. Mostly because of stow'n'go. Best feature ever!!! Nobody else has it. 2010 sxt with 4.0 still runs like a deer. Just constant problem with agr value. It's annoying but easy to fix. Привет из Квебека. Приезжай на лыжах кататься.

sir i observed oil leak below the oil filter housing and i think is resting on the back of the engine near the transmission, but no drip on the floor at all. what's causing the leak???

Between 05-2010 odyssey the best for my opinion.Generally This body awesome most convenient car .must have every family. If don’t need to tow this body better that pickup truck.I slept two nights on camp with two girls when outside 34 degrees.suspension and under hood review the best ever I saw on KZfaq.need a diesel engine for Europe.16 L/100 to much .

Nice review! We purchased a 2016 T&C Touring (middle equipment level) almost 2 years ago for less than $13,000, before everything went off the charts with used vehicles prices in California. Purchased it with a bit less than 80k miles and so far (sans the transmission of course, the solenoid for one of the gears conked out) it has been solid and reliable... we take it out camping and on long road trips and on the Freeway it's balmy and quiet while doing good to great mileage (between 21 and 28mpg) for such a heavy vehicle. Plus, it's spacious inside and an awesome basis for the RoadLoft conversion: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iZOZl6SAyanJoGw.html.

I would say yes, it’s pretty simple cheap to repair. But you need to be careful with the transmission. I would recommend to perform the transmission oil change together with the transmission oil filer each 60K or even more often.
