A very good point and the same money spent upgrading a wltoys will see you close to 100mph! I should have mentioned that

Yeah, I've the granite mega, all the electronics gotta change to upgrade. Finding the pinion gears can change out was a cool extra. I've put some grease into the gear box as well. Gotta love the Dumbo radios! Thanks for pushing those, they're dumb cheap!

Hi Rich. Keep up the great videos mate!!! I have a question for ya. Does the esc of the $38 brushless combo you installed have a program card?? Most esc’s have adjustments-braking, acceleration, voltage, etc. Seems like your Granite has too much brake-should be adjustable with the programmer. What say you?

Great video. I have a few questions: Where can I find the 25 tooth pinion? How did you switch between 2 & 3s? Which servo did you use, it shows 2 different models?

Diff cups (imo) can't handle stock brushed and 2s for very long in my opinion

At 6:52 a I see someone's else's RC? Looks to be one of Arrma's buggies, maybe the Typhon (I'm not an Armma guy, so just guessing here, not a Traxxas guy either, I'm a WLtoys fan). Are they doing speed runs too?

Just got one of these from horizon fest. I think my stock esc is garbage, it has trouble binding about 3 out of 6 times running. I happen to have a radio, a receiver, and a brushless 4300kv 540 I didn’t use on another project so I think it’s gonna get that before I do anything else with it. Besides it’s slow on the original motor 😁

Btw fixed mesh generally only work with manufacturers pinions

I put a 18 tooth pinion and a 15 turn brushed motor and new servo and run it on 2 cell lipo.

This will be my first brushless conversion so I’m not 100% sure what I’m doing. If you could put a link to a servo that would work it would be much appreciated.

@@Dusty9148 any normal 10th scale servo should do it, just make sure that the servo you get has the right rotation angle for the car.

@@aydinlutmergp4885 how would someone know what the proper rotation angle is and what to look for? Asking for a friend. LOL. Seriously I want to upgrade my granite mega to brushless and was thinking I could put the parts I replace from the mega into my daughters granite voltage.

@@GratefulEd907 it just depends on the car but Im like 99% sure the granite uses a 180 degree servo like most others, you can probably google or check you manual to be sure. Another common one is 270 degrees but most are 180.

From experience with all of them only surpass hobby hasn't blown on me, actually they're pretty good 👍

Sticking with the stock is a shame. 25 is probably what would be appropriate for the brushless unless it’s stupid high KV like 5700

Hi i have a problem, I bought a lil brushless combo online and it was dirt cheap. It looked very good so i gave it a try and the top speed is very good but when i wanna get of the line i give full throttle and the motor makes sounds for 1-3 seconds and then drives normally as nothing happens. But always when i wanna start to drive or wanna go uphill at low speeds, it makes this. Has anyone a fix for that?

It’s sensor less, so it “cogs” as they say… get a program card on Amazon, set pinch to full maxx. Or her a censored motor. Also pinion gears that are to big won’t help either.. hope it helps

Just because you can convert something to brushless doesn't mean you should This has to be probably one of the worst rc platforms in every way possible I rather buy a wltoys something or other
