Don’t pull those wires there are extractor tools that you can use. Just a suggestion

I think Jimmy you will want to pull that g430 out for the avidyne when you recoupe some extra cash.....Its plug and play with the g430 and is soooooo much better with the iPad. And yes the pin extractor tool dude!

Thank you for the detailed look at the new NAV I think (auto pilot)? * when replacing floors in the plane, consider carbon fibre sheets. * altitude and airspeed gauges: have you reliable evidence of their precision. When was the last time the plane was flown? The restoration and upgrade is going well. * are you installing inspection plates in the wings? Quality is the best policy! 🌏🇭🇲

I'll have to check on that carbon fiber sheeting, had the pitot and altimeter check about 30 days ago. using current inspection plates on the wings.

Use extraction and insertion tools to extract and insert terminated wires from connectors. Just saying.

So give us a little backstory, Are you working full time on the PA32 or just afterwork? How are you getting so much time to work on it? I’m rebuilding an old Stinson but I only get a few hours a week due to work and family

I sold my last company 2 years ago and have been "temporarily" retired since. This would take years if I had a full time job/business. I wouldn't have done it if that were the case.

True dat. I've had a whole suite of new avionics in my spare room waiting to go in the aeroplane for about 15 years now. In fact, one bit has now become obsolete and I've bought a new one. That's in my spare room too.

How does one go about testing the auto pilot installation?

A ground test first to ensure that the servo's are working correctly - then, a test flight with the aircraft flown in accordance with a list of maneuvers that are given by the manufacturer.
