Cheap drift tire challenge #3: Antares Ingens A1 vs. My broken heart

Today I am testing the east coast go to tire, the Antares Ingens A1. These tires certainly look the part, but will they survive our cheese grater of a track? I only have 1 set of tires to test today as the other set I had ordered didn't show up in time for the event, hence, my broken heart...

I havent heard of anyone using them but I wonder how the Ohstu FP7000 holds up against these other tires. They can be had for fairly cheap also, they are $58.97 on SimpleTire.

Not a bad choice, for daily any of the tires I have tested would work perfectly fine, we just beat the shit out of them lol.

i been running these tires for 2 years. 80mph entries on lockcity roadcoarse + daily driving.

European guys use Triace Carreras and Sunful SF888 for their "last longer" low powered tires. Might want to look into it :)

You should also check out Hifly HF805, here in Norway they use this tire a lot, cheap tire, holds ok and make a lot of smoke.

Dan please test out the Sentury UHP from discount tire! These cost around $50 a piece plus discounts on a set of 4 free shipping etc. These tires last FOREVEVER. Best kept secret for cheap tires that last forever and have decent grip!

Let me ask a stupid question here, is this tire designed to slide easy and was it design specifically for drifting? I don't drift but I like the look of the tread and the price and I was wondering if this tire would be safe for everyday driving and what kind of mileage could I get out of them. Thank you for the video and thumbs up on it.

No stupid questions here! All of these tires I have been testing are regular passenger car tires and or high performance tires. None of them are drift specific other than being cheap to waste. For reference, the lower the treadwear a tire has (100 to about 280), the more grip and heat capacity it should have. This translates to less tire life in daily driving conditions. Transversely, the higher treadwear tires (280 to 500) are designed to have a much harder rubber compound, sacrificing grip and heat retention for long life. These being a 300 means they are going to have less life than say a 350 or 400, but still last quite a long time. You wont see 40k out of them, but 20 is doable! Hope that helped.

I just used GT Radial UHPAS at USAir and they were hands down the worst tire I've ran. 3 good grip laps, 3 more laps before fapping got unbearable...
