Very nicely done. Loved the intro music as well. I plan to build one as a gift to the farmer who graciously allows me to hunt who hunts from an open ground blind. Excellent job!

Good video on how to build an inexpensive blind. Another option that works really well, especially in areas with heavy snows in winter, is a simple A-frame design I came up with a few years ago. You get a treated landscape timber and two pieces of plywood and you make a 4x8 A-frame by attaching one end of each piece of plywood to the flat side of a landscape timber, then stand 'em up and screw 'em together. (OK, there's a little more to it, but that's the basic idea!)

This is exactly how I build my 4x4 box blinds. I use 2x4s just cause we have a pile in our barn or used 2x3sx4 from pallet spacers. I highly recommend deerview hinge windows that fold down. I’m in wi so it’s bitter cold at times

Thats crazy cool. I built one using the method and size you did. But I used 2×4s and its a little cramped. Wish I would have done it like you did with 2×2s. Yours looks likes a lot more room inside. Plus a heck of a lot lighter.

Man this is almost identical to what I envisioned for building me a couple of these 4x4 blinds. I want it light and cheap. The one I currently have is framed with angled slotted metal like what is used to hang garage door openers and rails. Just one of these angled metal pieces at 72 inches is about 42 bucks so that is not an option. The 2x2 you used were what I was thinking of and it looks great. I'm going to follow your steps and design to knock me out two, maybe three of these. Of course they will be for next season, but man they sure are nice for staying out of the weather while hunting. Thanks again and Gob Bless. 🙏🏼 (sub'd)

Beats that cold for sure and with the buddy heater inside of it man it heats up fast lol. Most importantly I’m sure you know make sure your roof is overlapping on all sides whatever you are using to help the rain flow away from the stand. I love these blinds!

I ensured the plywood over lapped the entire top of the structure. I utilized tin roofing and it’s still holding up. I gave this one to my father in law.

The only thing I would have done differently is buy treated 2x4s, and rip them down the middle (straighter and cheaper than buying 2x2s). I know lots of bow hunters that have done this and it works great. I would also have used 3/8" treated plywood for the floor. Then use 1/4" treated plywood for the walls. Then I would put galvanized corrugated metal on the roof with a slight "lean to" pitch. By using all treated wood, it will last SIGNIFICANTLY longer, and ultimately save you money (and work) in the long run.
