I'm really excited to hear what kind of sound it produces in your helmet :) Also if it makes any trouble. What bitrate is the max it can record at? 128 kb/s?

These eBay pieces work really well with the external microphone. Otherwise, they aren't the clearest especially if you get further away from it as seen here. My suggestion is purchase a cheap iPhone 4 or 5; they make excellent dictaphones!

Hi, I have this unit from ebay. It came without instructions so this video is very useful. However I agree with the last person, I cannot hear what you are saying due to the back ground music. Also I suggest using a head mic. I like the video, it is better than most American instructions who want for some unknown reason to tell you their life story instead of getting to the point. I also like the video because it is simple, to the point and informative. You have shown that you have taken some time and thought before turning on the Cam. So 7/10 for a first try it’s just the audio. May I ask you to re-record this please? I would find this very informative if you could. Thanks.

How do I charge it? I plugged it into the comp, and the manual said to put it on voice record, so I set the record with the menu switch, set the mode of record to voice activated, and a little picture of the comp and recorder with lines going up came on and a picture of a battery charging. Kept it that way for 4 hrs and it still said charging. put it all the way on voice recording and did a sample try out. Turned it off and turned it back on and it said welcome, then low power and bye bye, and turned off. after 4 hrs and 30 seconds of recording? What did I do wrong?

cheap, I have one, it's ok for basic use, only has one issue it's battery fails after 12 months of use.

One advice...never use this kind of music when doing this kind of video..NEVER use music when doing this kind of video..NEVER EVER use music especially when doing this kind of videos..narrated videos..it RUINS it..what did did you think of??? It could have been good..if it wasn't for the annoying music.

nothing personal mate, at least you took the time to do a review and we all thank you for the effort but in my case i needed to know what the playback was like after recording and as you now know the music killed it, just keep doing what your doing mate cause you ARE helping others to make a decision on techy items.........just leave the music alone lol. again thanks.

During the mic test segments (black screen and text) there's no music, so it gave me a pretty good idea of the mic. I just unboxed a very similar model (Looks identical, except black) and my audio was considerably more distorted, but I think I had the mic set too close my face. It was the first recording with it I had ever made.

Does it rewind back a few seconds like a tape recorder for replay of a part or does it just go back to beginning of the track ?

I bought 4 of these. Everything else works fine on them, but with the 4 I now have, NONE of them will record with the mike. So it must be something i am doing. I am setting the record for microphone from audio and recording like I do for regular voice. Nothing, unless I unplug the mike while I am recording. LOL not the expected result. Is there anything else I should be doing? and yes I did make sure my volume was up, and tried other mikes than one.

You should watch the type of the mic you are using. and if it's well pluged.

Good Video/ Thanks. I want to know if it records stereo LINE IN say from a mixer or a tape deck? I want to use it to capture recordings from my mixer. Plug the mixer into to the mic in jack???

I lost the manual before I got a chance to upload my recordings so can you say how you were able to connect the Audio recorder to the computer?-so you can view the files. I've plugged the audio recorder into the computer via usb cable but my computer is not picking up that the recorder is attached so i can't view the files. Am I missing something? Help?

Yes, it's recommended. The only problem of this device is the out of sync problem, impossible to sync with camera, but only for audio is ok.

It looks like a STEREO recorder with L&R mics but it seems to only play back in MONO? Anyone had it play back a voce recording in Stereo?

I personally think the Right mic is weaker than the left. But realistically I have never actually tried using it in stereo ( if the mode exists). It has always been sufficient for me. Hopefully someone else can answer that for you! Cheers for the comment though!

Hi there, so i assume to charge the battery you just plug the usb cable into a computer or power supply for how long i dont know, the instructions are not very clear...nice video though...from Fred in Essex, uk.

I am not 100% certain on that one to be honest. I think you may be able to change it somewhere. But generally, If I need it to be MP3 I just convert the wav file with free software on my computer

I have used it to record in my helmet and it work very well, but I used an external mic for that. I was only on a 125 so engine noise wasn't very loud haha

Contact the supplier of the recorder and tell them your problem, and they should send you a new one.

Can you help me, I just got one of these but after I record and press the stop button nothing happens, it doesn't save, the device goes off the comes back on by itself. Am I doing something wrong?

That's weird! Maybe the device is faulty or you need to reset it somehow? I am pretty sure you can get a refund from where you bought it. Or a brand new one for free if you tell them the problem?

hello I bought one, product could not capture stereo recordings with line cable or mic, supports mono. try record and open file in a sound wave editor you will see only mono wave. took apart unit. it contains only 1 electret microphone in left hand side of unit. "L" and "R" labeling is only to fool purchaser. Spend another $10 and buy something better if you require stereo recordings.

System Time never stays updated after Voice Recorder is being turned OFF or even after being in Standby Mode. Don't buy this recorder. Save your money.

I escaped from the BUFFER OVERFLOW ISSUE.... I Created a Folder " RECORD" and copyied an File "REC001.WAV" and an normal MP3-File on Root directory . Cold restart device.... Try to play that File. ..."initiallizing...." Message apperars... Press -hold A/B Button ... select DELETE ALL. - Disc Empty Message! Tada!!!! Good luck!

You just connect the Recorder to the computer and you browse the files on your computer! And just copy and paste them. I might make a tutorial in the future.

The computer didn't recognize the DVR every time I plug it. No notification at all, and no folder to open. Just nothing happen. :)
