At the time of releasing this video, this rc plane is on sale for $70 (click USA warehouse). Because of that, we have to recommend it just because the price compared to the performance is definitely worth it. We have never seen an rc PNP airplane this big with the electronics (except receiver, transmitter, and battery) for this cheap! What an awesome deal. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Prop Update: I flew this again after this video and switched the prop direction again and it flew MUCH Better than what we showed in this video. Apparently I had it correct the first time, when I launched it into the ground. I just didn't have enough throttle and elevator on that initial launch. I don't believe this needs a more efficient prop as I discussed in this video. In fact, this thing flies amazingly well and sounds much better with the prop on the correct way. I overheated my ESC in this video, but didn't damage it permanently. The pulsing we heard was the ESC telling me to lay off for a minute so it could cool off. Pusher prop planes are amazing, that they can fly with the prop on either way. Be sure to test yours with a strong throttle blast before taking off. If it's not pushing very hard, unplug your flight battery, reverse that prop and try the other way. This plane is 100% a steal at that price, and even around $100 or so is an amazing price in our opinions! Happy Flying!

I find that I don't like the safe tecnology. It's something I'm forced to psy for on certain planes and I bever yse it. This plane to me is a really good bargain because I'm not buying tecnology I'll bever use.

Bought one of these a while back for $59 but it shipped from China. Two months and a completely demolished box later I got it and was still able to put it together. Flies awesome and it’s definitely awesome that it’s shipping out of the US.

Props are always installed (Pusher or puller) with the curved side facing the direction the plane is to go. You cannot get it wrong. ;-)

Well, both sides are curved, but we know what you mean. The convex side always faces the direction the plane goes, regardless of whether it's a pusher or a tractor. Like you I can't understand either why anyone gets it wrong, but I could see from the close ups in the video that the Saylors had it the wrong way.

Got mine in six days. Great value for the price.. The box was beat in and the parts bag was open, but the missing control horns are an easy problem to remedy. The canopy glue for the magnets had spread and I had to cut them apart and re-clue them in place. All just nuisance issues. Thanks for the video. I had to laugh (with you I hope) about pusher prop direction. A great lesson on doing ALL pre-flight checks. Also, check the servo installation on the ailerons. One of mine came off 30 seconds into my first flight. I got lucky and only minor crack in wing. All components have now been secured and fixed as needed. Hope to take it out again next weekend. I still think this is a great value for the price.

Always numbers (prop specs) facing forward, regardless of motor position 🙂 So a pusher configuration has the prop numbers facing the motor and a tractor config has the numbers facing away from the motor.

A powered glider usually is propped with a high pitch to give the best climb rate, you get up high, cut the motor and look for thermals.

Most props have numbers/letters printed on them , the numbers/letters need to face the direction of travel ( front of the plane ) .

I've got one and really like it. The prop is altogether wrong. It's like putting a right quad prop on a left hand motor and turning the prop upside down to compensate. I'm running a 3 blade 3"X42 pitch on mine. It's not a power house plane but I really like it.

Ah the sky surfer! I had a much earlier version of this plane as a third plane. That version was nothing but lift and lightness. It handled so well that I ended up pushing it to destruction due to how easy it was to fly. Fond memories

Simple check with any prop, stand in front make sure it's rotating anti-clockwise and look at the tip the curve should also be facing anti-clockwise. Doesn't matter if it's a pusher or tractor prop.

The usual issue with that style of pusher configuration is that with the ideal size prop the tip would hit the rear fuselage and the actual chosen size would be the one that just clears it.

Nice big plane. I also couldn't help but notice that mini sky hunter v2 on that site for $60 below the listing. That may well be a good plane too. I always was a pusher prop fan.

Thanks for the follow up in the description but the prop still looks a bit small. It would probably fly even better on the next size up ie. lower rpm to not work the motor as hard.

i learned to fly 4 channel on 3 planes like that 9 years ago...my favorite was the hk floater jet... crashed and repaired a dozen or more times and wore out 2 motors...replacements were 8 bucks...

Don't know - there's just something about the look of gliders that are so neat. I'm definitely far from an expert, but when I heard you fly by, even I knew something was wrong. I received my Mini Apprentice, and went back to the video you did on yours. I heard going up on the battery, little longer flight, tried to go to the link for the batteries, but "couldn't find the site" what would you recommend I get, few more of the same size, or does more MAH make that much of a difference?

Forget about the numbers, a lot of props don't have them at all. The rule for deciding how to fit the prop is: the convex side ALWAYS has to point in the direction the plane flies. If you are wondering what convex means, think of a spoon. The sugar goes in the CONCAVE surface, and the bottom side is CONVEX.

Was this plane originally made by Blitz RC works and sold thru Banana Hobby? Cause if so I have this plane(different color scheme) and want to change the electronics i.e. esc, receiver. Reason being I no longer have the transmitter.

The maiden flight was carried with the prop on backwards hence the weird noise. I don’t see where the problem is, pusher plane’s don’t require a special prop, just visualise fitting the prop to the front of the plane, we all know how that should look then then fit it to the pusher motor without turning it around, ie the front of the prop must be kept facing the front of the plane, it’s that simple. Convex surface of the blade to the front, concave to the rear. I don’t how you managed such good flight, you have a magic touch, and such an excellent model to fly so well with a back to front prop! Always entertaining watching you both. Thanks.

I killed mine yesterday 😂. I was running a 5X5 3 blade prop and doing things the plane didn't like. It went nose in from about 30ft. The tail snapped off, the wing broke at the mount point and the entire nose accordianed (sp?). 100% pilot error 😉. I may fix it but I'm seriously considering yanking the electronics and putting them on a Sonic Modell SkyHunter. I paid $67 for mine and got $167 worth of fun out of it.

You had the correct prop. I've used those for years for bigger planes than this. You just had out on backwards when flying!!!

At 8:48, your prop is backwards. If that's how it was while flying, that's why it performed so poorly and sounded like crap. Whether you are using a normal prop or a pusher prop, a good rule of thumb to go by is that the cupped side of the blades needs to face the tail of the plane.

@@axelbrendel4091 The prop still works because the angle of the blades doesn't flip when you put it on backwards, just the optimization of the blade curvature, so it still produces thrust when on backwards, just a lot less due to the curve being wrong. Think of it like using a kayak paddle with it flipped the wrong way. It still works but it lacks the bite that it does when it's the right direction.

I seen other configurations of this, the one in the banggood link looks like an A2212 2450kV 30A ESC and 5050 prop, elsewhere I seen it with A2212 2200kV 40A ESC and 6040 prop, and SunnySky X2212 2450kV upgraded 40A ESC, upgraded servo and 6040 prop.

@@juansadvancesaranggola8611 If you mean speed you want to go for a racing prop in 5 inch triblade and racing motor. Like a 2306, 2308, 2208, 2406, etc. SunnySky R2308 2600kv + GemFan 51466 in 4s would be an example. Lower kV for 6s like 1600-2000. 40A esc minimum, probably better to have 60A just in case. Decent C rated battery. For acrobatics you want to enough have control surface throw, you can set the maximum in software etc usually. I’d try with defaults or less throw so you don’t accidentally crash hard DAL Nepal N1 props or GemFan 51433, etc will be easier on the ESC and may be better for a high kV motor like 2600-2700kV

@@juansadvancesaranggola8611 also the motors may have different mount spacing between the screws, you’d have to check what the kit has and how it mounts the motor and may need an adapter which you can 3D printer, make out of balsa wood or buy online etc

Yes, quite often. I set mine at 3.5 volts, but recommend 3.6 or 3.7 for beginner pilots, giving more time to land 😄👍⚓😎

You've seen me on the other videos lol, I'm everywhere and lost. I purchased the e-flight 1.5 Glider and canceled the order the same day and apparently it acted like we never even bought it so it was in a warehouse the entire time!? Reason is I don't have a spectrum controller and wanted the one with safe select, bla bla bla, it just would of been too much money over all, adding up the prices and would cost me a bit over 500 dollars for sure, even with the basic spectrum remote. I just haven't researched the price carefully. Now we have a plane like this one here, from hobby king and it's missing a few parts. It's a build to fly type and we're going to go for it. I have a Fly Sky remote control, FPV Goggles that I'd never use with one of those fog fans and volume controls like for a TV Ha, so basically l, my dad and I are going to get it up and running, and I hope to hit some thermals for the first time, which would be sick! It's a bit heavier then most gliders, but hey if it handles thermals, I'd be happy as a champ, and if it can still handle thermals with a FPV system aboard. I'd be 10 times happier than ever, and quite possibly go on a little cross country trip. I want to see if I can then add, the heigh level beeper that ultralight people use, to indicate that they had hit a thermal through my FPV Goggles would be cool. All I know what's up ahead, is a whole lot of research and monthly budget planning!!

Could you use a Spectrum DXe from the Aero Scout to fly this one too? I know they’re similar planes but it looks cool and it’s cheap and I’m just learning.

I think the prop was STILL on backwards. Trust me, I’ve done this a dozen times. Of backwards, the prop will still make thrust in the intended direction but super inefficiently and it will make way more noise than usual. Pusher or puller, numbers on the prop should go forward ->

Well aside from the prop a looza it looks & flew well under the conditions. Definitely have to get a better prop on it, and give it another chance on air. If the new prop works. THAT sky was BEEEUYTIFULLY MAGNIFICENT. BLUE PATCHES OF SKY, BLUE COLORED CLOUDS with a touch of white,and grey. NATURE sure knows how to paint a sky. Then somebody has to put a plane in it and mess up the view. 😂😂😆😆😁😁😉😉😉. Thanks for the sky view, O and the plane was ok to. 🤭🤭🤗🤗. ⚓⚓👍💝👍⚓⚓.

@@AlymerKiteboy well I have two Eachine RTF planes. Both have the numbers on the back side. I had thought they should be facing front but noticed they were facing rear so I posted a picture in a thread on the flute test forums. Replies indicated that it looked correct (pitch, etc) .... They fly perfectly that way.
