Well considering you're comparing an almost $2000 projector to one that cost well under 100 bucks, the inferior projector didn't do that bad.

Wow... maybe if I had the capability to record video In 4k... In person, the difference is night and day. The el cheapo is barely watchable, and really loud. Screen door is obvious on the cheapie, and it is much dimmer. I guess I should have communicated that better in my video.

FuckThisSiteNow I agree with your comment. One thing I didn’t notice that he failed to show that through the menu, you can turn up the brightness on the rca. Of course as you pointed our, this is really an unfair comparison. Two cheap projectors compared, acceptable. Maybe we should see a comparison of his Mitsubishi and a real projector like a benq, that would be a better comparison imo

This projector isn't worth the plastic case it's housed in. Pure garbage. Complete waste of money. The entire point of the video is to see if it's a usable projector. It's not. The mechanism inside is a joke. If you have ever read about those white van projector scams, where a guy in a van is selling them in hotel parking lots and at bars, the inside of these projectors is very close to the scam projectors, with a different light source. Utter junk.

Yeah someone gave me this projector for Christmas a year back as something to try out, mostly use it to play games and watch anime, mostly play JRPGs and the smaller text can be so hard to read specially on the left side and that whole ether have to have the top or the bottom of in focuses can make some anime subs hard to watch because some times text can be on both the top and bottom. When I do watching live action shows/movies I have to brighten it up to see. So yeah I'm keeping my options open for something better.

This thing is 100% worth it! It's a 75+ inch TV for $50, find me anything that comes close to that and ill throw this out right now. But I switched from my 32 inch HD TV to this projector, I couldn't read the small print in my video games on my tiny TV from far away. Now I have a massive TV next to or above my bed on the ceiling.(i don't even have to sit up to watch shit anymore) Yeah the pictures not great, but thats to be expected from a $50 projector. But everything on my ps4 is visible / readable / "clear" up to 70-90 inches. So if you're more concerned with size over image quality. I'd fully recommend this. Especially if you're getting as a back up to an actual tv. Also if you hook up a sega genesis or an n64 it looks perfect lol.

I have have this very projector and it works perfectly.....Once you have dialed in your setting for your environment and darken up your room .......I went to see a movie at a theater for the movie and to compare quality and believe it or not my little RCA had better quality then the theater......Since that experience i see no reason to go back to a theatre when i can get better picture and sound at home...... I do recommend Blue Rays and newer DVDs older DVDs dont look as good ......this is not the fault of the RCA its the fault of the older format on the dvds.....As far as the fan goes if you have a proper home theater sound system you wont even notice it ..... I had a $799.99 Epson yrs ago and took it back after 7 days the quality was crap to say the list among the other probs it had flash forward 15yrs and for $79.00 i now have a far soupier projector........How i came across this RCA is by accident .... I was in a local store looking for a bigger flat screen 74inh or so and then behind the counter on a shelf i saw this RCA thingy and i said what is that I looked at it hummed and hawd if i should get it ......79bucks what am i gona get for 79bucks ...... Most likely a hunk of 79dollar junk....That was 3yrs ago so by accident looking at 74inch or so flat screen i now currently have a 110inch for 79bucks not a 300.00 to 400.00 74inch bulky flat screen TV WIN WIN for me..... Now if you want to compare things I compare this to my KIA SOUL to a Cadillac ...... Cad has satellite radio bluetooth heated seats a kick ass sound system with Apple play and other other useless shit.....My KIA has Sat radio BlueTooth heated seats USB port for thumb drives so i dont need Apple play i have my play I can use my phone hands free and gas mileage OMG .... My point is my KIA has what i need not what KIA thinks i need Unlike The Cad that has all theses bells and whistles i dont need but they think you need I have no use for Apple play or Alexa or any thing that has me talk to my car looking like a lazzy idiot....I could go on and on but i will finalize by saying ...... RCA has done what KIA has done for the car they have given you what you need to enjoy movies at home without buying the Cadillac of projectors ...... Who needs all that shit when you just want to enjoy a movie at home or enjoy driving without breaking the bank.......I bought another just to put away for the day the bulb decides to die and it willl....but i have a replacement for when that day comes.....If you have have one of those high end projectors they dont cover the bulb and when it goes it will cost $300.00 and up to replace it.......So $79.00 for the one have been using for 3yrs and another for backup is real good deal.......RCA is the granddaddy of alll you watch and listen to from so GOOD JOB to them for helping bring a HOME THEARTE experience into my home .....I have Home Theater sound at home for over 20yrs now i finally have the BIG PICTURE to go with ((((((((THANK YOU RCA )))))))))))) for the sight that now goes my SOUND........ One more this for my screen it cost me about 8 bucks some green mask take i painted black with the SONY LOGO painted on the bottom center and some left over white paint from my bathrooom. to anybody who has seen it they say oh wow you have a movie screen how much did that cost I say Eight Bucks ..... 8bucks plus 79bucks and a 20 plus sound system i have a Theater that rivals the local CinaPlex in my own living room and i just live in a small apartment but when lights go down i am anywhere in the world that my little RCA will take me on my 110ich walll........... one last thing 110inch is the perfect size for movie watching any bigger you dont get the full picture any smaller the sound does not works aswell my front speakers are the same distance apart as the width of my screen now the sounds go with the images on the screen......BLAH BLAH BLAH.....THE END.........

I have an older model RCA projector from 2017. It was my first projector and, ya, it blows. I still have it. I also have a couple of ABOX 720p projectors from Amazon, which are indeed improvements over the RCA. That being said, I was able to spend $50 on eBay and get a significantly better projector than both. It's an older model DLP from Dell and is technically below 720p (4:3 ratio, XGA), as it was a business class projector, but that doesn't bother me. It's close enough that I don't really care, especially at that price. The overall image quality is still much better. Better contrast, colors, and lighting. It even holds up decently well with ambient light. However, if anyone else chooses to go the route that I did and buy a cheapo used DLP projector on eBay (plenty of them on there), don't make the same mistake I did. Buy some decent thermal paste, open the sucker up, and replace the old dried up paste on the DLP chip. Otherwise, you'll just wind up doing what I did and overheating the little chip to death. I got lucky and found a replacement chip, but it cost me $35 more than the projector did. Which is fine by me, as I'd rather spend more money than waste any, and it kept a perfectly good projector out of a landfill.

Painting? Tufting rugs? This is the projector for you & RCA should pivot into more niche places to survive & stop dealing with losses while downgrading every item they make 4 times every 2 years to deal with losses from returns. RCA has to pivot or pay more & charge more. They should pivot THEN go back to making good items. I have no loyalty to them, though. I like TCL Roku TVs at this point.

Thanks for making this video. My concern for this model is its performance for replacing a Kodak Carousel Slide Projector, which did a great job showing my dad's old 35mm film slides, until that projector died. Down to figuring out solutions before an upcoming Xmas family slide show, my cousin picked up this RCA unit with the intention of using it in place of the old Kodak projector. (He will scan the 35mm slides and import them to the RCA via a laptop). I'm getting discouraged by other articles comments I've read about how 35mm slides look washed out and 2-dimensional when projected digitally, even when using higher priced projectors. So.. how do you think this RCA model would do with scanned, 35mm slides?
@FamilyHomeTheater
@FamilyHomeTheater 4 жыл бұрын
My dad also had a slide projector. This one just one do them justice. A true 1080p unit at least wont look nearly as pixelated. As for the washed out look, it is going to depend on how the slides are scanned in. A regular flatbed wont work unless it has a backlight designed for slides. For best results, a scanner specifically for slides would be best. But that is half the process. Ideally, the slides would then be processed through Photoshop or at least Lightroom. This post processing is what will bring the slides back to life. If money is an issue, you can use Gimp, but I dont think it has batch processing options, so correcting all the slides could get tedious, depending on how many there are.
@pdxthomas
@pdxthomas 4 жыл бұрын
@@FamilyHomeTheater Thanks so much for the fast reply. Although my cousin has a dedicated slide scanner he plans to use, it sure sounds like you're saying this RCA unit won't nearly be able to reproduce the quality of the analogue projector. I also have a vintage "glass bead" projection screen that worked so well with the old projector, but I can't imagine that would make much difference either if going the digital route with this RCA.
@FamilyHomeTheater
@FamilyHomeTheater 4 жыл бұрын
@@pdxthomas the screen should be fine. But the rca is so low resolution that all detail will be lost. And so unless the original photos were out of focus to begin with, they will look much worse. I would say 720p is the absolute minimum resolution to go for. Technically, not even a true 4K projector would display all the detail in sharp well taken 35mm photos (but it would be really close). I have a 1080p projector, and I think it is fine, but would like to step up to 4k. But if you are looking for a projector just to look at slides, getting a full blown home theater projector is a bit of an investment. Perhaps you could rent a projector from somewhere (depending on where you are). A home theater projector would be best because the color reproduction would be better. Data projectors are high brightness and often do wash out colors. It's fine if you are looking at spreadsheets, but for photos, probably a good home theater LCD projector would be best. (LCOS or SXRD would be better, but those cost multi thousand of dollars)

LOL!!!! You seriously made a video comparing a $2000 projector to a projector I'm currently considering picking up used on eBay for $29.99 as a Halloween decoration??? "As you can see, this 2004 Toyota Camry is not nearly as fast or handles as well as my 2023 BMW 7 Series."

My HC4000 was actually about $1300 new. I'd say it is more of a Ford Taurus. A 7 series would be a JVC NZ7. But more to the point, the specs on the box read like the projector is comparable to something much more expensive. This video was more to call out the BS and educate people on the issue.

Great comparising..that was a really bad projector (RCA),..Got my Pro (Benq) MS 507 in 2014 thats a 800/600 P native 2800 lumens celingmounted..Projectors are not cheap in Norway,so the benq is middle end..and in 2018 i ordred a P80 pocketprojector,android 7.1,1gbram/8gbstorage..and i was pleasentily suprised over the quality of that little projector(alieexpress) 480P and suprisingly bright too..Use it as bedroomprojector...year after a X2 projector pocket,2gbram/16gbstorage,android 9..480 p too..Livingroomprojector..(smartidea/aliexpress) and the end of 2019 i bought a Elephas miniprojector W90 720P contrastratio 3000:1 very good too...with over 30000/50000 hour of lamplife on those i got i am backed up...combined with a tvbox/bluerayvideoplayer and such..Happy life :)

Yes, just plug in the hdmi output from those devices into the projector and it will work. But it wont look good since the projector is essentially down-ressing the signal to standard definition.

Come on..... what do you expect, you can buy twenty RCA 2000 projectors like this for the price of one Mitsubishi 4000, I think I would expect a difference, but to say the RCA is a piece of junk.... gees I don't know, it seems to work fine for the price.

i have a question i just picked up a projection screen .is there a way i can find out what aspect ratio it is..?..
@FamilyHomeTheater
@FamilyHomeTheater 4 жыл бұрын
Easy answer is if it looks more like a square, it is 4:3. If it looks like a rectangle like a modern television, it is 16:9. If it is a really wide rectangle, it is 2.35:1. The more complex method would be to divide the width by the height. If you end up with 1.33, it is 4:3 (Old TV aspect ratio). If you end up with 1.77, it is 16:9 (modern television aspect ratio). If you end up with 2.35, it is 2.35:1 (widescreen aspect ratio).

All the people who purchase this junk have no clue what an honest projector picture should look like. These projectors have poor focus, poor contrast, poor brightness and zero features worth using. They say a sucker is born every minute, well these projectors are proof of that. The only person who would be happy with this is someone who has never seen a decent projector image. Might as well take your money and burn it.

for 69$ is it good for at least 32 inch picture ? :D, maybe something for a small bedroom .
@FamilyHomeTheater
@FamilyHomeTheater 5 жыл бұрын
I'd say just wall mount a cheap 32 inch TV. No fan noise. Projectors are a bit of a hassle, and I dont see a point if the picture can't be big.
