what's your take on the forming apple health kit ecosystem ... ive seen you post on everything else but wondered if you have any devices that connect with the apple health app like tooth brushes jump-ropes weight scales smart cups etc

Have you tried the M2 hardwired hub?? I like that it is USB powered. For a camper van with a 12Volt powered WiFi router, I could add the M2 hub and connect the micro-USB cable to a 12V power adapter. Along with the vibration monitor attached to the various doors , I would have a mobile security system even if I didn’t have an Apple hub powered up! Granted I would only get a notification if in range of the van’s WiFi. Having the air quality monitor would also be nice! Am I interpreting the features of the Aqara Home system without a Apple HomeKit hub, with just the Aqara’s Zigbee’s protocol. PS do you know what the second USB port is for on the M2 hub, this has the potential for a really cool camper van system. Great video

I'm preparing for the university exam this year and I don't know whether to buy a macbook or an ipad. Do you think it is more efficient to study while using a computer or to study using an iPad? actually I have a tablet 9.7 inch but it is not easy to take notes on it as it is a bit old.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to control my smart plug with HomeKit. Can someone explain to me how to schedule my plug to turn on at certain time and turn off at a certain time. I don't see a on and off option.

Hi, can someone tell if it's true that even when the smart wall switch is off, the smart bulb is still "reachable". Because I thought it wasn't But Nikias just said it does.

I have a question. Why would you put a light switch and bulb (both separate smart devices) together and not just use one? I get it if the switch is only a switch and not a dimmer and the bulb is dimmable or more importantly can change colors. But if you don’t want colors and just a white dimmable light, why wouldn’t you put a dimmer switch instead of an off/on switch. I lied. I have two questions. The second is this. Assuming you have an answer that makes sense for my first question and you end up using a smart switch/.dimmer and a smart bulb on the same light, what naming configuration do you use? Without getting into semantics I’m already running out of ideas to name things. For example, my house has 3 bedrooms. One is the master bedroom and the other two are guest bedrooms. I didn’t name them guest bedroom 1 and 2 because I’d probably forget which was which and ask Alexa or Siri to turn things on and off in that room meaning to do it for the other. So I named it by furniture color. If I want the lamp in the right nightstand to turn in I say “Siri/Alexa, turn on right BlAck Bedroom Lamp. Etc. If I have to say turn on kitchen light bulb and then kitchen light switch as a separate command I’ll just want to shoot myself. Or the non-human smart assistant (I don’t think shooting non-human smart assistants is a crime is it?”). And finally, suppose Siri thinks one device is on and the other is off. So if the switch is on and the bulb off, how much shenanigans would you have to go through to give her the right command to do what you want? Seems overly complex doing it this way but I’m always excited to hear why I’m ring or overthinking it.

Hey I see you posted this a while ago and haven’t received an answer. I think having a combination of switch and bulb depends on how much control you want. Do you want the ability to turn on/kill the power AND manipulate the light from the bulb? Or do you just want to say “lights on” and see light? I see a potential situation where both would be useful- having multiple bulbs connected to a single switch. In that case, you could use one command to give/cut all the bulb’s power, but then use separate commands to turn on or set color/intensity of each individual bulb. I honestly can’t think of a different situation where you’d use both. I think the biggest difference in function is the ability to further manipulate the light emitted from a bulb if the bulb itself is smart, vs having limited ability with just using a smart switch
