I got the bivi from ebay for £31 2 months ago thanks for watching atb stuart

Bivi camping is the best. When I was young and poor, did it all the time. Now I am old and poor, I find a bivi with a poncho as a tarp is a nice combo. Adds a few hundred grams but gives a bit more space for gear. You can also sit out under it, midgies permitting.

Always rain never sunshine Stuart. We can do a munro summit camp get the bivvy used. ATB.

Great to see it. I have a notion to get a wee solo tent but I don't know if I want to go that small, to be honest. It is sure good for stealth and might be ok if my bicycle panniers were staying out all night in any rain since they are water-tight.That puddle would worry me. I suppose it would need to be guyed out tight as a drum to keep it rounded to avoid sagging when the rain lands. Great review and thanks for sharing it.

Thanks for sharing…I just bought this bivy tent with new model that there is window on the tail end .I tied a shorter string connecting the two bottom of the front pole webbing holes,so sacrificed a little width and the height comes to 57 cm.

I love the sound of the rain when camping as long as you are dry. Don't know about bivi type tents as I think I would be claustrophobic, seems worth £30 tho 👍

Watched with interest and serious intent. I have an ex-Army bivi which does keep you dry but if it is raining when you have to get up in the night everything gets wet. My choice will probably be a tarp tent and most likely the DD Superlight, which is a shaped tarp with a door and supported by a couple of walking poles. Actually lighter than an Army bivi which has no support at all. I also hate midges, which leave some people alone but eat me alive. I would have chosen a slightly more exposed spot on a brae where there is a bit of breeze to blow them away. I love walking in Scotland and there is nothing to compare with the view from the top of a ben. May our paths cross some time!

Them damn midges would drive me crazy haha. I do enjoy bivi camping, but I use a small tarp also for sitting under if raining, that's the same double hoop design as my GoreTex bivy Stew, there ideal for minimalist backpacking, small and light, perfect. Nice one mate and enjoy, atb.

I'm looking forward to getting my British Army Gore-Tex bivi tested out... but no mesh, no poles, no pegs. Just a big bag so I can sleep on the rocks on the summits & rocky ledges. For everywhere else... a tent. 😂

I have a two piece bivy tent, it has the rain fly, and you enter from the side. It’s similar to what you have. If you search Golden Bear Bivi tent on KZfaq, you’ll see what mine is like.

Has anyone got any further experience (good or bad) of condensation issues when using this bivi bag? Or any tips for enhancing its ventilation during rain (e.g. leaving it slightly unzipped) without getting rain in (or needing to also use a tarp over the entrance?

Hello Stuart. Good video and nice bivi. I have been looking at the snug pack bivi but I’m a little worried about wanting a pee twice a night and getting in and out. Things are just not the same. Lol. 🤣. Did you say £312 for the bivi. Must have a built in toilet. That would be ok.

Like the fact that it zips up and a guy can stay warm in there. Not much of a vestibule for gear. Too small in case I'd have to spend serious time in there. Ponding on top of the tent. I can see it leaking after a while. Didn't mention the weight in this vid, must be light or I'd find a better biv. Like the vids near the beach. Thanks-

For £30 you'll definitely get your money's worth if you only take it on one summit camp because there ain't no hotel that's gonna give you the views in the morning that will for that price 😉

Have you used this tent again since? And have your thoughts on it changed? The reason I ask is I've just ordered this same tent to use for overnighters I'm not too bothered about a little condensation, I saw some reviews saying everything was soaking wet inside when they woke up

I've gone on a couple of camping trips sleeping in a bivy I guess they're okay if you're a small person but I'm a bigger guy and to me sleeping in a bivy feels like sleeping in a casket not a lot of room to move and makes you feel claustrophobic. The condensation in a bivy from what I've experienced is extremely bad compared to a few different types of tents

It's a wonder you didn't lose another stone with the midges biting chunks out of you. But seriously, if you are looking at losing weight without starving yourself ( which doesn't work) check out the KETO diet. Works wonders, and the great thing is you can still have your big famous fry ups, but just without the tattie scones. 😱Cheers 👍
