Good so far...idea for future 2 minute tip 😁 how about demo on paint on internal vs external vs both. And one on animal vs vegetable? And finally what to do when papers lose their sizing, can it be restored? And how to store our precious papers to protect from that occurring? Heck-job security Julie!! All with products CJs sells even. 🤗

I just came across Cheap Joe's videos last night. You're a lot of fun and I enjoy watching you-and, as a new painter-I'm learning a lot of helpful basics. :)

Helpful 2 minute art tip but would like more info re: deterioration of sizing on stored paper, list of papers using external sizing vs internal vs both, and vegan options. (Now I know why my dog ate my watercolor paper -- must've smelled like horse hooves!)

Is there a way to resize paper if it loses its sizing abilities? I bought some paper awhile back and i went to use it and it and it is now unuseable due to the paper absorbing the paint. Its all blotchy when i paint on it!

Is Arches paper internally or externally sized? Both? I’ve found that the soaking required to stretch the paper affects its behaviour. Does that mean the sizing has been washed off of the surface of the paper?

Send them a message on Instagram and specify the type of paper and it’s weight. I’m pretty sure it’s internally sized. Most papers are oversized to avoid the problem of running out of sizing. If you think your paper becomes too absorbent after soaking, try this method. Place it on a non absorbent surface like gatorboard and wet it thoroughly, but not to the point of dripping wet. Give it about 5-10 minutes to expand then staple or tape the edges.
