Cheap entry level fountain pen with gold nib and maki-e? Platinum has the answer. It is not fully hand-made maki-e and you will not get urushi everywhere but in my opinion it is a perfect entry into the world of maki-e and urushi. I also show another Platinum - old and heavily scratched pen I brought back to life with negoro urushi.

Platinum Vicoh, Platinum Classic, Platinum PTL-12000, Platinum PTL-15000.
One version PLT-20000 is also "modern" maki-e (screen printed) but I am sure it is hand-finished and covered with urushi lacquer.
