Seems like a IR illuminator is used but the issues is it seems to have about 20 degrees of FOV (for example nerfs digital NV scope for 20 bucks is 15) which is wildy different than the 45 degrees provided by PVS-14 lens. ((fact check the things I say.))

@@MASTERHITEyes but no the us military uses a bunch of different night vision the special guys get gpnvg panos which are 40k and then Pvs-31’s and pvs-14s for the regular army and marines infantry Pvs-31 are 11-14k Pvs 14 are 3-5k

Those $200 ones are only effective within short range. They rely on a constant ir illuminator. Fun toy at most, not even close to real nvg tho lol

The 40k ones are dimmed and out of focus. Don't get me wrong their still a pos but It usually depends on how old they are I've had some that are busted from use and some new ones that are really good.

The difference between the Amazon ones and the other one is that it emits infrared light, this means anyone using an infrared camera can see you while the millitary one doesn’t this means if your using the millitary one your completely invisible to infrared camerad

Those pvs14s are not 40k they are like 3000 at most. And they aren’t that good guys. As a 11b those nods are shit unless you somehow luck out and get a brand fucking new one. Ask anyone in the military about them and they’ll tell you the same thing.

The bane of my unit’s existence was being issued the PVS-14 from the armory right before going to a field exercise or training even though we knew for a fact we weren’t going to shoot at night. We had to keep them on us at all times with 550 cord wrapped around a lanyard hole on the device and around our belt loops where it would stay secured in our pockets to stab our legs while doing our exercises in the field.

I use a PVS14 very often and it’s arguably the best device for a civilian. The civ ones which aren’t eaten alive by blems and shit like the military ones are much much better. They take the same tubes as 31s and whatnot, so it’s not the housing, it’s the shitty early Gen OMNI tubes the mil was issuing you guys.

The parallax and gain on the “real” PVS-14 has very clearly been set very high as to appear blurry compared to the $200 pair this company is shilling. Don’t believe everything you see on youtube shorts kids. And yes a real NVG unit doesn't cost 40k. Its just misleading advertisement.
