I have tried sooooooo many pedals it’s ridiculous! But I always come back to Iron Cobra. It’s just so simple to adjust, responsive and comfortable playing it.

Dude, same. I've tried Trick Pro 1Vs, Demon Drives, Pearl Eliminator Redlines, then I tried the cobra and had no idea they were that good.

I just got a steal on an old mapex falcon direct drive and let me tell you. Blown away. One of if not the most heavy and solid pedals of any major manufacturer. Silent and smooth and quick. For 250$? Definitely don’t need an “expensive” pedal unless you just really like one.

I bought my first drum set 6 months ago. A Tama Imperial Star. It's a great kit for a beginner imo except the throne. That thing sucked. Anyway months later I upgraded to a speed cobra 910. Did I need too? No, but I think it feels way better!

15 treshold 9 ritrigcancel for high speeds. 18 treshold 9 ritrig under 220BPM

SHEEESH! If you check, Klingbein and Payne are mostly using Iron Cobra 900 Power Cam aside from Direct Drive Pedals. This already speak volumes on the reliability of the Cobra's. There is also some buzz that TAMA might be releasing their own "Drive Shaft", as to when it will be available, I don't know. Hopefully 2025!! Haha

My feetwork is so shitty ive been stuck using full leg practically running. Really considering buying some demon xrs or something but direct drive for sure. Theres no way i suck then right? 😂

Demon XRs are probably the worst pedals for someone not already super experienced. They have very limited adjustments, extremely heavy springs and are WAY overpriced. I honestly don't get why they were made in the first place. There is no innovation with the exception of adding an even heavier super heavy duty spring. Then there's switching to direct drive, its different. In my experience there was a learning curve and for a time they made my playing even worse. I'm not saying don't switch to them, you probably should, just know its going to suck for a while. Good luck with whatever you choose to go with.

I've been looking at Trick Dominators because the Pro 1Vs are like $1300 and I want something with compression springs that will be easier to adjust precisely. If anyone here has them, please let me know what you think. I'm the type of drummer that will get thrown completely off if the spring tension changes and then it takes me _forever_ to get it dialed back in. Could also all be in my head, I'm not very good so that's probably a factor. I also hate the bearings in the DWs I have now. They are trash. Would love to get Darwin's or CKs but more than I want to spend as a casual drummer.

I believe Art Cruz, Lamb of God’s drummer, uses Trick Dominators and has since his Winds of Plague days, which is around 2010 or so. Safe to say if he’s still using them, they must be pretty good. From what I’ve read, they’re just stripped down Pro 1V pedals. Oughtta give you no trouble.

I got them, played them for about 2-3 years, but never really felt comfortable with them. Switched to DemonDrive Shortboards, way better but was still not perfect. Now i got the ACD Phantoms with Longboards and StrapDrive ("cheaper" Darwin Version, but has all you need) and they work perfec for me, adjusted the spring once and that's it. They come with markings on the spring adjustment wheels, so you find your settings again easily.

I had pro 1vs, very similar and I hated them. Tried for a year to get used to it. I hated the compression spring in every single way, it feels terrible. But will depend on your own opinion. If you play with your beaters far back, you’ll hate it. The compression spring is designed to work when the beaters are really close to the head. I sold them and got iron cobras, almost laughed at how much better I was playing within a few hours. All that time, I had the wrong pedal. These fancy $1000+ pedals are not all they’re cracked up to be. I spent 75% of my time adjusting the infinite settings when I could have been playing instead

honestly go for the acd's if you have the money/time to wait for them. the adjustments on EVERY setting for those pedals is miles ahead of trick/axis/czarcie imo. didnt take me long to find settings i loved compared to other pedals as well
