Most incredible and unique sounding bass guitar ever. I know Tom runs his 12 string bass thru a Orange guitar amp and speaker set up, but he is such a talented musician, and has created such a uniquely full sound that has made the CT sound so iconic thru the years

Cheap Trick used Tom as a secret weapon to their big full sound. Lost of people were distracted by Rick Nielsen's guitar antics when the real action was happening on the other side of the stage.

I saw a couple of consecutive stadium shows both had AC⚡DC and one of them had Cheap Trick. Out of the nine bands of those two shows those two bands weren't a lot of things that those other bands were. I know AC⚡DC played CBGBs and if Cheap Trick never did, they probably could have. That's the only way I can think of to describe how those two were that made them different from those other bands, who probably never would have played there. Maybe Ted Nugent. I know he had an antagonistic relationship with Patti Smith.

A band called Raggedy Andy (or something like that) was supposed to open the show for ACDC but for reasons unknown they didn't show. So Cheap Trick got just sort of tossed out on the stage to sink or swim. They didn't look like much at first. But then they started playing. The total Concert ended up running over an hour longer than it was supposed to due to encore calls for both Cheap Trick and ACDC.

This is more than a 12 year old would be doing. That 12-string bass was designed and built specifically for Petersson. Plus, the man is in his 70s now, so his hands aren't going to move as fast as they did when he was in his 20s and 30s.
