My mother had one of these years ago can't remember the make but you used a cleaning solution that came with it and it was really good at cleaning come with a little brush and buffing cloth.

Michael Livote I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t have the object slightly submerged? Doesn’t look like the lid is locking down or anything does it have a dead man’s switch that prevents it from operating with the lid open? I think you could still clean somewhat larger items that will fit with the lid open.

the best thing for sterling silver is a tumbler!!!! i use it on my tiffany bracelets and OH MY GAUWD!!!! THEY ARE SO SHINY SPARKLY YOU NEED THAT!!!!!

If it just lay in the water, it would look the same. I don't see any significant changes. Regular toothpaste or soap, a toothbrush and water will work wonders without any new technology. And for silver: Dissolve 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda in 500 ml of water, put this solution on fire and, when the water boils, put silver and a piece of ordinary food foil there. After 10-15 minutes, the silver will shine like new. Or you can simply soak the products in a baking soda solution for a few minutes, and then wipe them with a soft cloth. P.s. Just put a mesh on the bottom of the sink do not drop the ring into the drain hole.

PSA: NEVER put a whole watch in an ultrasonic cleaner!!! Even if it is water proof/resistant, the gaskets that keep the water out can be damaged or otherwise allow water in due to the tiny cavitation (basically anti-bubbles, I.e. no air in the bubbles, because they are formed from the water vibrating, not air being pushed into the water) pushing through the gaskets. Not to mention the ultrasonic vibration itself can cause damage to the movement (internal works) of the watch. DO NOT put the “head” of a watch in an ultrasonic cleaner. ONLY clean metal bracelets/bands on their own. A metal bracelet can be removed with minimal tools, and using the proper tool (spring bar removal tool) it will pose less risk of scratching the watch lugs.

I've had a small Ultrasonic Cleaner for 30+ years so, yeh, certainly not new tech. Mine is a lot more robust (industrial quality I guess) and a lot simpler with just an on/off switch but it works great even now.

As he mentioned it, the reason they advertise it as healthy is probably because you don't need to use dangerous chemicals to clean the items, unlike the chemicals they put into other types of jewellery cleaners.

ru.talaa it is fine to clean diamond rings in an ultrasonic cleaner. Always remove the “head” of a watch from its metal bracelet though. Don’t just put a whole watch in. The ultrasonic vibrations can allow water to get past the rubber gaskets that keep water out on water proof or resistant watches. You’re better off running the head of the watch under a tap and lightly scrubbing the crevices with a soft toothbrush. Providing the watch has an adequate water resistance, obviously. And never pull out the crown whilst the watch is under water or wet.

Should not use anything like pearls, or glued items. Also works best cleaning diamonds and some gemstones that have body oils on them. Will not work with tarnished silver. Bad video, didnt do any homework to help people.
