The Pro version cost $15 at most to make. The Competition and league ball probably cost $14.50 to make. The labor and materials have nothing to do with the cost. They made the best ball they could for the Pro ball, then purposefully made the other two feel worse, as best they could, to justify price difference. The truth is, the league ball should be $40, the Competition should be $60, and the Pro should be $80 and even that is padding the pro ball with a pretty heavy markup.

It doesn't work that way. The price difference is related to the R&D required or spent on the pro ball to make sense. That's why it costs what it costs. I don't work for addidas or nothing of the sort, but people tend to forget that months and months of research of a massive team is spent creating a new ball, from the physics, to the materials selected, to the feeling, the design, and all that costs money (or better said, time spent, which then gets into salaries for employees). Now, surely, the League and Competition also take time to design/plan/scheme, but much less surely as they don't need to be as precise nor fit the same exact requirements. That's why those are cheaper. And this is all not accounting for the profit that adiddas has to make on the balls themselves, because recovering the investment is just part of the problem, they need to make money on top of that.

Your theory of the pro’s divots giving more curve has some truth to it in aerodynamics. It gives slightly more lift and when given spin to it, curves more as a result

I think I'd take the League ball, not for its performance, but the fact that it is pretty affordable. Speaking of the League ball, as I was on a layover in Doha on a return trip to Manila from Scandinavia, I was able to secure myself the Al Rihla League ball at Hamad International Airport's FIFA Store

at the rate the technologies are incorporated into the play ball, it would be easier for strikers and midfielder to direct the ball to where they intend to place it..i think gola keepers should be paid more in the future because goal keepers will need to be really really good to anticipate the ball

Dude anticipation comes from the player, the more direct it is the easier to anticipate. When I anticipate bottom left I dive completely bottom left. The more direct the shot the better cause the dude shoots it straight to my hands. Power is what changes it and makes it un-savable but that’s down to the player, not the ball.

I bought the league ball ! I’m not going to lie it’s actually helped with my accuracy and shot. But I did have to use more power than I’d use for my other ones despite that I’d still get it again but maybe the comp ball this time as I’d use the pro one for a special occasion (never) .😂

To me it sounds like Jay Mike preferred the construction of the Telstar League and Uniforia League balls (I’m pretty sure the construction of the two are identical) to the Al Rihla league ball. I bet he is correct that the Select Numero 10 is better than the Al Rihla league for many people in ideal conditions, but in wet conditions I like to have the reassurance of the thermal bonding construction to reduce water absorption. When you look for balls under $40 USD that have thermal bonding, the list starts looking a whole lot shorter.

Please review some futsal and 5-A balls as well, because most of us play on small artificial grass pitches or indoor where matchballs are not good option. For example, I like Nike Duro Reflect balls but they are not available anywhere over internet for today, so I would like to get some help to chose new ball to play indoors. I see you have quite much options in your store but would be cool if you would share oppinions on them.

You should play with and feel the balls without knowing which is which ball while your friend with you knows. Then when you are done playing he’ll tell you and you can give an honest review of the balls without the placebo effect

Jay have you tested the Select Super Brilliant? Like to hear your feedback specifically. I’ve liked the medium-high end balls but still prefer hand stitched over the plastic feel of the glued (thermobonded/fused). Also, the roll the type of pitch (turf, grass, wet turf, unkept tall grass) conditions seem to really playa roll in feel & performance

@@unbrroken4810 the comp is an overall solid ball,yet the official ball is one of the better balls on the market.The ball is fast and could guarantee smooth moves,and personally the comp just cannot compete with the official ball,it is around 60-70% as good as a match ball.Yet still a really good ball for its price

I actually try to go into the movement in the video, but the Pro feels faster and more direct. The Competition definitely also has the solid, match ball like vibe to it but in a 'thinner' and less powerful way, and finally the league feels a little more padded to the touch with a slightly slower and more lazy flight pattern. Skill is all what matters. A lot of todays and past pro players came from poor backgrounds, even played without shoes and look where they went. Unless you willing to pay for the price it’s up to you. Does it make you a better player? No.

On paper, yes, it should be significantly more durable - and also hold air better, but as for the durability it’s too early in the ball’s life cycle for me to say. /Jay

@@unisport I have one of the Pros, and i can say that is a very durable football as ive already used it on ag turf for about 20-30 hours. I have only owned other footballs in the takedown range, and those would get beat to crap after the same amount of time but the Pro still feels just like it did fresh out of the box. So the durability is very good.

They’re permanent now. Never deflate your expensive football.

I’ll be honest, they will be a little difficult to get rid of. As a rule of thumb, you should avoid deflating match balls - especially thermally bonded ones. However, you CAN get rid of some of them. Just inflate it to 1.0-1.2 bar and make sure that it keeps that pressure for a while - and the creases should even out a bit over time. /Jay
