I like that I can’t tell if you are being sarcastic, it keeps me on my intellectual toes, but, auto trans fluid is by necessity a highly refined oil with a very specific viscosity (ie it’s not multigrade and not full of polymers and detergents which is why it lasts so long between services. Also an auto trans doesn’t produce contaminants like an IC engine. So I’m going to bet that K&N orders the cheapest Dex3 Trans fluid by the truckload, bottles it in their own little bottles and sells it at 100x markup. I have 2 bottles of K&N oil that I got on sale, when empty I will refill with the cheapest Dex3 I can get.

@@ashleybb1994 you have to make sure you wash the heck out of your filter after with water.... technically yes it's a degreaser but I would use a foaming cleaner as the bubbles help dislodge particulates as well as break down any oil on an oiled filter. You can use any Multisurface cleaner, any degreaser really.

@@ashleybb1994 I mentioned carpet cleaner as it is for fabric fibers, coned air filters are made of fibers and only $1 for a can at 99cent store.

Yes I used K&N oil on it. I think the filter is still in good shape. It's not here at the moment but I'll try to check it this weekend and get back to you.

The filter is still in good shape, no separation or degradation at all. Mineral oil works as well but the K&N oil has dye in it so that you can tell what areas have been saturated.

I use 99cent store foaming carpet cleaner. The microbubbles help break up dirt. Trans fluid for oil on filter.

Dirt gets through.

@@kalani1987 I’ve seen people say to recharge the filter oil after cleaning, then wipe clean the maf a week or so later. The filter is made of cotton (denim), and the oil creates the tack that traps dirt particles.

@@MohammadHamza I only use K&N oil, WD-40 will work temporarily but will evaporate it's good for cleaning but not oil. If you use the wrong oil the motor will run too lean or too rich.

Actually these stuffs are pretty expensive her in india 1500 for k&n recharger kit smallest pack so is the reason I'm looking for alternative... My cleaner is finished and oil left close to 100 ml maybe So I'll use wd 40... btw how about kerosene? Sorry if it sounds lame but i just have no idea

@@MohammadHamza I don't know, search the web, some say ATF automatic transmission fluid will work but get 5 wt and lightly spray it on.

I can't say for sure. There's a good chance that it would work but I don't know anyone who's tried it.

Depends on psi and dispersion used. Another note is you will be pushing dirt in instead of out which may cause further embedding of foreign particles

Not no more it’s 20 bucks for kit I use simple green 5$ and sometimes I’ll buy K&N oil but I’m gonna buy super tech tranny fluid for another 5$ soooo

Terrible recommendation, it's $22 now in 2022 for 2 applications. No thanks, I'd rather experiment with different alternative.
