I love my Rocket 3 but feel let down by the 23 pounds of factory super quiet exhaust. I can see spending from $1000.00 to $3000.00 for exhaust and shipping fees. So just for fun without damaging or modifying and oem parts I am going to find a cheaper and better solution l. First attempt is going to be a cheap tip and adaptor with a 4 in baffle. let's see how it works.

Lol, stupid it's so top-secret.. Maybe I'll make a little video about welding the exhaust tip off a Chevy truck on to my Suzuki Katana. It's a 2 in od pipe. Hahaha

No need to make apologies. Its your bike and you can modify it how you want. Its a great idea to experiment with it and it will help you decide what to do in the end. I actually wnt looking for a slip on for my Diavel and I ended up buying a $50 dan moto stainless glass pack because It sounded amazing, looked great and was lighter than some of the much more expensive alternatives. As a matter of fact, if the dan moto unit was still available Id definitely recommend you try it on your triumph.

On my mt10, i just took the exup valve out of the equation by removing the servo wires, drilled the cats out, welded the flap open and tossed the stock can; put a cheap tip on it to make it look better and called it a day, no tune needed. cleans up the rear and makes the cp4 shine without being (douchebag loud) but still makes enough noise to tickle the inner dickhead. cant imagine trying to make this thing sound good without setting off car alarms. exhausts are stupid on bikes. i put a full system on my c6 corvette for 400 bucks but my last R1 cost me 1500$ for a 3/4 akrapovic system and then i had to lay down another 550 for a power commander; install it myself and install then tune it which was another 400 bucks for some dickhead to put it on a dyno for 5 minutes and click 3 buttons on his labtop. no reason these things should cost this much and most of the aftermarket exhausts are ugly as sin to boot. its insane. if you just want a little more noise but dont want to be a rolling cop magnet, just drill your cats out and call it a day. thank me later.

Thank you I can't wait to finish getting the baffle and O2 sensor welded in so I can't paint it black. Should look really cool when finished.

I agree, I understand the stainless steel pipes and hardware have a fair price, but 3k is just ridiculous. I'll just keep playing around with ideas until I build something im happy with.
