Had a wee flea infestation as haven't been able to get any flea treatment into the stray, all you need is a bowl, water & your average light, no chemicals needed so totally safe if pets get near it

If you caught that many fleas in that there must be thousands of eggs in the house already

a few drops of dish soap breaks the surface tension of the water. Gold prospectors use this method for the light gold. The problem with not using dish soap is the majority of fleas can bounce right off the top of the water. So imagine, you caught probably less than 50% of the fleas

Dish liquid soap breaks the surface tension on the water causing them to sink & not jump out of water...sure you have caught some but I assure u it's only the top of the iceberg. Use about a teaspoon or so of soap to water...stir it up making the water slippery. Next put a lamp over it or sit a jar candle in it & let burn All night. Make sure you turn off any other light sources & make the candle the Only one in each room... I've done it & cats wouldn't go near it or try to drink the soapy mixture. Let burn overnight then do a body count the next morning. Rinse & repeat every night until you're not catching anything. This does nothing 4.flea eggs tho...Plus you need to wash pets bedding... vacuum every other day plus treat the pets. Fleas are hard to eradicate but persistence pays off.

Should the water be cold or boil hot water?

@@angelasanchez5432 Just room temperature. Fleas are attracted to the light & heat of the candle burning...the soapy water temp doesn't apply. It's when they land in the soapy water it costs their exoskeleton & they sink & die. Bon voyage fleas.

@@angelasanchez5432 doesn't matter really. I would add about 1/4 cup give or take, of some kind of sweet soda. the smell will attract and draw them to the liquid.

A tea candle placed in the center of the bowl in a dark room will attract them. Assuming they are attracted to heat, light and/or water.

New to flea problems. I started steaming my floors and other area to kill the larvae. Then eggs and they mamas and daddy’s got to go! The whole damn family is out of bounce.

Love this. I had 2 kittens recently, I had to rehome them for things out of my control. They came riddled with fleas but they were to young to treat. I used the comb and water on them. However my 1 bed flat is now infested with fleas. I have sprayed chemicals, and ordered some cans of flea spray to do the entire flat. I have watched a few flea trap vids with suggesting soap and a lamp. But I will try this now, and leave bowls in the living room and passage.

No, it helps ease the situation, you still need to clean your house with anti flea detergent , spray flea killer to your bed, bath your pets.. there is no one way solution to completely get rid of Flea.

Does anyone know if this can be done without a torch or lamp, just a bowl and hot water with dish soap ?

The heat and light from the lamp or torch is necessary because the fleas are attracted to them

I tried it without lamp, it works as the video shown. But I guess with the lamp it will work better.

light is NOT NECESSARY but will help. I've had bottles of a few drops of soda left in them, put in corners on my counters and it works. Just add a few drops of liquid soap keeps them from jumping out and flying away.

This is only for the home, you have to treat the pets as well for the infestation.

To push those comes with risks. After I gave my dog Nexgard he reacted to it neurologically meaning it took over a year after just one treatment for him to semi recover. He still has shivers/shaking but it’s better. These are chemicals/insecticides. He’s done better with Flontline Gold. I believe it’s an IGR that can kill the flea eggs as well as adults. It’s saf(er). As hard as it is, try natural remedies first before resorting to this stuff you’re pushing.

There is no simple one way solution, the video only shown one of the effective way to kill flea. Treatment on pet helps too
