Cheapest Nato Strap paratrooper strap modification

If you're wondering what to do with those CNS paratrooper straps you bought and didn't like, this is the video for you.
Quick little modification to adapt the CNS para strap into one that is much more on par with the expensive varieties on offer. But you do need to know how to sew.
No affiliation with CNS.

Thank you! Neither of their versions match this configuration, so I held off ordering from them. With this fix, I have a couple on the way.

Cool mod but CNS actually released a new updated slider hardware to eliminate the problem of having the watch get loose. I got 4 new buckle for free from them all I had to do is send them an email. I like your idea though.

@@collinkelly2944 their version of the MN strap isn't quite right, everyone else stitches the hook part down, but CNS doesn't, I don't get it

..or you can just squeeze the hook shut around the adjuster for a permanent loop, the strap is elastic so you just squeeze your hand through the loop when taking the watch on or off.

Really nice solution, but you could also fold the strap before putting it through the keeper, all the extra fabric is mostly under your wrist, it stays in place and the keeper doesnt move at all.

There's so many different types I'm not sure which to try. I'd like one that doesn't go under the watch but I've heard good things about the new cheapnatostraps mn straps and the price seems realistic. Think il try those first

The Watch Steward and Nick’s Loop straps are the better design because they avoid all that material sitting between the watch and your wrist. Study their design and with a little critical thinking on your part, you can easily (no sewing required) make the modifications yourself. Start with an old nylon nato and later pick up an AliExpress elastic natos for $9. Sweatpants for watches

Does the strap go between your wrist and the watch like a single pass nato or does the watch sit on your wrist?

The former - the strap sits between wrist and case back. Due to the thinness of the elastic material it doesn't add any extra bulk to the watch-head and still sits nicely.

@@Barnaby_bo nope - once. The marine nationale is an enclosed (adjustable) loop, the paratrooper is just an open length of material (like a single-pass nato is, but with a totally different fastening system)

Check out Cheapest NATO Straps new Paratrooper Straps. They've modified the metal hardware from what's shown above and they've created an improved single pass through strap that's much easier and comfortable to use. I bought 2 and I love them.

Yes, a good upgrade to the original 'paratrooper' straps. Anyone can also upgrade their existing paratrooper straps using this method. Thanks!

That may be more secure than the paratrooper version, but it's still different from the typical MN version (what this mod does).

They're like $90 these days.. I'd rather go cheapest nato straps for 15 and sew in a keeper.

So have you just made a marine national out of a paratrooper, MN's are cheap af too. 🙄 Also, the new paratrooper has a better buckle slider now. 👍
