I don't think Ellis Islands specials can be beat in terms of quality and price. Coronado Cafe seems like a place that you should stick with the basics if you go there. Also there portions seem pretty small compared to Ellis Island too.

Thanks for the honest review. For steaks, I'm usually a rare or medium rare guy, but for cheap grades I ask for medium well. Cheap meat tends to be very chewy if not cooked well.

Danny sprinkle the salt on your steak from up high allowing it to bounce off your elbow and then they can move the decimal point over 2 spots on your bill. I stop there every time i arrive late into town for a fairly consistent 7.5 steak and straight 8s on the rest of the meal.

I almost made eggs today, but I just made a fat and juicy NY strip. It was $14.75 and I could only eat half at 1.25 lbs. I also had some crispy roasted potatoes and a buttercrunch salad. Chef's kiss!

Oh Pooh ! I had high hopes it was going to be good. My brother in law and ex just arrived in Vegas an hour ago. I was going to tell them about it. 🤣🥩🥚I've stayed at South Point many times, but have not done the late menu at Coronado. I've had dinner there a few times and the steak special they sometimes have is excellent.

A lot of high end steak houses don't even offer "Pittsburgh" style steak (although it seems more common to receive a steak with char on just one side) I would be very surprised if an off strip Las Vegas locals casino, having bargain food offerings, would accommodate a request for a "Pittsburgh" style steak unless it was offered on the menu as such.

This the place for cheap SOBs like me too! Hmmm, that is why the steak is so cheap…lol. Happy the potatoes n eggs were okay 👍. Yes, next time try some else. Tung like his steak and Steve was okay with his? Hello Tung and Steve. Good idea to ask for a better steak! You did ask for quick sear with red center the 2nd time! Don’t always get the best cuts for the price…lol. It is what it is for 3:00 am. 🤣

Glad Tung and Steve were there to provide more balanced input into the South Point steak and eggs. experience. Perhaps the kitchen did not know what Pittsburgh style was after all. How did Tung order his steak?

Biting into a wet towel is a 5, I wonder what a 3 or below would be described as. Thank goodness for the potato, eggs, and toast saved the day. Remember the price reflects the quality

3 - Something is moderately wrong. an example would be if the steak was on its way to going bad, with that familiar borderline putrefaction taste, and they tried to cover it up with spices.

Never screw with the chef. The kitchens I've worked with would have dropped it on the floor to add a little " Pittsburg" flavoring to it before sending it out.

DTM you should have ordered the New York Steak, New York style. They probably bring it to you with some side of attitude. I thought DTM was going to make napkin bunny. Food and prices look great, I would eat there everyday. Coach Tarkanian would have loved that steak. How did Tung/Steve got from one side to the other in a blink of an eye.

I saw Prime Rib on that triangle display thingy u were holding but not the price so I don't know if it's worth a try or not. They don't seem consistently good with their beef dishes so maybe not. Sorry this was a bust, Danny.

It's possible those steaks might have been par cooked, especially if they expect to serve a lot of steaks because their price are so cheap. You might have had a steak that has been sitting around too long
