Maybe you are not for the first world country, where everyone use cool tools...but here in some remote place in the world you are such a blessing

You overestimate the amount of people who can actually afford the "cool" tools... The VAST majority, even in the richest countries, can't afford them. Remember: country's GDP =\= welfare of the people. Source: I live in the Netherlands, and only people in the highest income bracket can afford those "cool" tools you refer to.

These tools work because it's more about the skill or wisdom to use the available tools. This channel highlights classic tools that have withstood the test of time by being simple, economical and effective.

I have a set of harbor freight wood chisels and plains. They are amazing, after i spent several days sharpening them. But for $20 they get the jub done.

I've never had a problem with harbor freight C or F style clamps. They're great. I don't love the cheap tiny quick clamps, the plastic on them has broken on me before.

I only find issues with the quick release button itself often having too much torque on it to depress the button.

I keep the middle one you talked about, the bar clamp. I got one 12" long and use it all the time. Comes in real handy. I kind of discovered this when I was taking a woodworking class and wasn't at my bench and had to figure out alternative ways to clamp and work. Love my little bar clamp. Don't use my C clamps as much but they are handy from time to time.

Clamps make for great substitutes if you can't afford/don't have the space for a larger vise. I've been learning how to woodwork out of my garage on a 2x3' bench I built myself with a tiny vise and clamps for larger pieces - whole setup probably cost me less than $200

Those harbor freight c-clamps cost like $5 and for the money, totally worth it if you're just starting out.

I've been looping ropes around the glue up and run a stick through two bowline knots at either end, and twist until tight. I learned that from Jeff Bridges on Planet of the Apes.

I always clamp my pieces as close on the table as possible so I can rest my elbows or sometimes even forearms for better tool control and less fatigue of holding them up for a longer period of time. Is this something I should train myself not to do and learn to build dexterity or is it fine 😅

While these clamps may be "fine" for working with hand tools im going to say they are a hard pass for anything with power tools. The vibrations from power tools will cause the screw to release pressure and come unclamped. Not to mention the additional fiddleyness of having to have clamps big enough to clamp the workpiece PLUS the additional sacrificial blocks to protect it that mean you lose even more of the clamping power overall. Instead I would HIGHLY recommend investing in a set of aluminum body quick release clamps. Mine are made by a company called "Pro Point" which is sold by Princess Auto (Canadian Harbor Freight). They are Quick Release (duh), have rubber padding to protect your work, and because they are aluminum body with a cam clamping system they can provide up to 750lbs of clamping power... Each. I would suggest at least 2 of the 12" models for most work, and the larger sizes for glue-ups. They can be kind of pricey, but if you get them on sale its basically 2 for 1. Easily the best woodworking clamps I have ever used. It's like hsving a whole other person with The Incredible Hulk's grip strength helping to hold your work. And they don't marr up your tables or work surface either. After using them I wont use anything else now... If I can help it.
