£95 for USA ➡️ UK?! 🤯 But what’s the catch? 🤔 AD PR trip
💾 Save this for the future when you’re looking for cheap flights to USA!
Have you ever heard of Norse Atlantic Airways before?! ✈️
They’re a low cost long haul airline that has many routes between the UK and the US.
But how are they able to offer their fares so low??!
Well… you get your seat, a tiny carry on bag and… that’s about it! 😂
Things you will have to pay extra for if you’re on the cheapest fare include:
10kg carry on bag - £36 each way
23kg check in bag - £60 each way
Seat reservation - from £16 each way
Main meal - £24
Light meal - £16
Comfort kit - £7.01
Headphones - £4.71
Of course, you don’t have to add any of these - but I’d like to see someone do a transatlantic trip in a bag that measures 40 x 30 x 15cm - that’s smaller than Ryanair’s small cabin bag 😱
Actually… This sounds like a great challenge to do… haha!
But let’s say you did want at least a 10kg carry on bag, that would make this flight £131 one way.
Another flag is that I could find this super cheap rate on the return home from Orlando but not on the flight out. The cheapest flight from London to Orlando was £154 but actually, £249 return is still pretty amazing 👏
Also - these are sale fares, not error fares, and so there’s a fair few still at this price in March and April so it’s good that they’re actually bookable. You’ll save a few quid by going through a third party, but if you wanted to book with Norse direct it would cost you £10 more for the return flight.
📣 BUT WHAT DO YOU THINK?! 📣
Have you heard of Norse before? And would you consider flying with them?!

⚠️ What’s an AD PR TRIP? ⚠️
I flew with Norse as part of a PR Trip to Universal (more of that next!) meaning I didn’t pay for the trip, but I’m also not being paid to post about it (though obvs they want me to!)
I then asked if I could board the flight early to show you around the cabin whilst it was quiet! But yeah, Norse have not paid me to post this, nor do they know I’m going to. They also had zero sign off on any of the video - not even the fart sound coming out of the shitter 💩💨

I flew Norse from LAX to Oslo in 2022 when they first started and it was great. It was a redeye flight and they were so new, the plane was maybe 1/3 full so my wife moved to a row with no one in it and slept the whole flight as did I on the row we had originally booked. Had I known this was going to happen I would have not picked seats and saved a few more dollars on our cheap flight.

The thing that genuinely amazes me is the diabete meal. I mean yes, it £24, but the fact that is offer genuinely surprised me, as I did not expect to see that. 👍

Norse started off with few routes, they didn’t want to expand too quickly, which is what happened with Norwegian on the long haul routes. Since then, they taken their time to build up and then expand gradually. The former CEO of Norwegian is now the CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways 👍🏾. Learning from the mistakes that Norwegian made in the past, has and will continue to make Norse a profitable and successful airline.

I flew London to Barbados and it was amazing. Flights were 50% cheaper than BA and Virgin and I got to fly out of Gatwick. Just picked up 2 sandwiches at pret and 2 broasted chicken sandwiches at Chefette for the return 😊 With those savings it’s certainly tempting to “bid” for the business/premium class

Flown with Norse to/from NYC & London 3x now and it’s great! Would defo recommend but bring your own snacks and blanket. In my experience it’s better to pre book seats.

@@jakecortez4795It’s still SO cheap compared to the other airlines. Even economy flextra with priority boarding, 1 checked bag and 1 carry on + food it’s £243 (cheaper than others).

@@jakecortez4795i mean you have to pay for food on other airlines anyway. And youd probably just add on the big suitcase or a carryon depending on how long you’re staying. Its probably still cheaper than other airlines with the add ons. With food just buy stuff in the airport, or you can just buy what they offer on board

I’ve flown Norse four times and had previously used Norwegian long haul. I always go with exit row as I’m 6’4 but the rest of the cabin is comfy, meals are decent but the plane has always been cold as heck! Make sure to bring a blanket, I’ve had to buy one twice now.

i would 100 percent fly with them. They, like other budget airlines always get a bad rap. Simply because people do not understand them. They are perfect as a Taxi service, they are great for going from point to point cheaply. if you want them to be a Airline instead of a flying taxi service, and have bags etc. then you are paying for that. it is that simple.

So basically before you buy the “cheap” ticket, add up all the extras and compare to the other airlines that offer more amenities at a higher cost & weigh out the pros and cons! Thank you for this honest review and for showing us the prices! I just watched a review with that Liam guy from Points Guy and he didn’t mention anything about seat selection and the buying a meal & only talked about buying a blanket and headphones. Your review is way better!

I've priced it up before and if your flying long haul you need more luggage than a backpack.. So by the time I added luggage and seat selection there wasn't much between this airline and BA which just dosent make it wort it at all...

Went to the US for two weeks with just a backpack. If you take only essentials and are willing to find a laundry place to wash your clothes it can easily be done

Had a look at this recently and once foid and bags etc added it came out at oretty much the same as the other airlines. I expect you could save if travelling light or on your own, but it didn't seem a game changer

If you have to fly to Europe last minute it is a good deal. If not, and you can plan ahead at least 7 months, you can get the same on the main airlines for the same money as Norse (if you want baggage and food). For those who don't plan going to Europe that far it does make sense.

Normal long haul is very rough unless you are in first class sleeper. Ryanair of long haul sounds like cruel and unusual punishment

It’s really not that bad, bring extra socks and a jacket you can use as an extra blanket and maybe some stuff like grapes and lip balm and you’ll be fine. Oh and always try and get the specialty meals, like the low lactose. They’re almost always pretty good actually

I have a lot of allergies too. What food do you take on board that lasts? I usually bring prepackaged camping meals but they get pretty boring. Wonder what you do?

@MsFanpireProductions I normally take stuff you can add hot water to or keeps at room tempt. So instant noodles, cup soup, left over pizza, sandwiches, bread rolls, lots of snacks and breakfast bars, porridge pots.

I was going to fly Manchester to Toronto on a different budget long haul airline which was similar where I'd have to buy everything extra. I used NetFlights and found cheaper flights with international airlines that include everything. I was even able to select my seats for free by checking in 24 hours before the flights, but I was flying with my adult daughter, so it wouldn't have been a huge deal if we hadn't been able to sit together. We did have to go in the teeny tiny British Airways airplanes between Manchester and London, but it was still luxury compared to the budget airlines.

I would. It’s cheaper to buy the ticket and a €36 plus an extra €30ish charge for a regular bag of luggage and a meal kit than any other flight

Orlando to Gatwick is merely 8 hours. The true Ryanair of Long Haul should be Scoot, with SIN-BER at 16 hours.

And the reason is….🙄 With likes of United being totally overpriced, BA, Virgin etc, this airline is a great addition in the market. Norwegian was the most successful airline (low cost) to compete with the big boys prior to the pandemic for long haul. And boy did they. Do your research. They’re not a Ryanair THAT is for sure!! Ryanair yes I wouldn’t fly them, as they are known for having a dreadful reputation.

It's the exact same business model. My flight to Hamburg was advertised at €50 return, but by the time I was finished it was €120, because I wanted to bring more than a shopping bag with me and sit on the aisle.
