This story really put my mind at ease about car-living. As a retired renter on a fixed income, I feel like I'm always one rent-increase away from being out on the streets. I own a Toyota 4Runner 4x4 that I plan to drive for the rest of my life. I've always known I could sort of "live" in it in an emergency, such as if my apartment burned down, for example. But seeing how Roxy has set up her SUV gave me a lot of ideas and inspiration, and made me realize that if it comes down to that someday, it can WORK, and actually work quite well. (I also liked the tiny little mini-camper trailer I saw in the background, but I like how she has everything within reach by keeping it all in one vehicle. More mobility that way, too.) Great interview, and what a cool, amazing lady.

Julie Purpleskater have them both. I am thinking like you. I would have to have a tent to attach for bathroom privy. :) Or a small enclosed trailer to set up a bath room and storage . But on Bob's show there is so many options . Yep rent increase suck.

Yeah I saw that little Mini caper in the background As well and I've researched those. Those are a great option for a single person and I've seen some with a single solar panel on them ;)

As a nine year "veteran" it looks like she has perfected the small space living. Brilliant. I also love the idea of being able to cook and eat a meal sitting in one place. So much more convenient. And her legs must be quite fit after sitting cross-legged all the time. Thats actually how humans were meant to sit.

On the subject of Comfort, Adventure and Disaster Zones one of the most valuable lessons I ever learned is "A Comfort Zone is a rut, and a rut is a shallow grave" - The most enjoyable experiences in life are always in The Adventure Zone where you push out your boundaries into what makes you feel unsure and uncomfortable - That is where REAL living is - Just be careful not to push into the third.

the biggest eye opener is when you asked so you dont feel like you suffer? and then her answer. because ive always been renting in homes all my life i thought van dwelling or suv van dwelling would make me sad but then you look beyond that and realize you can travel to all these amazing small towns on the oregon coast and all over the country at will and not need to deal with noisy roommates or neighbors and traffic etc and you will be free as a bird to live your life then you realize aha this is true fulfillment

Another quality video Bob! Well done! She is a master of using her limited space. For me long term I would need a permanent kitchen setup...I understand her love of the freedom of the 4wd as opposed to more space but space is very limited even for a small lady. My Highlights from the video:1) The advice she gives to women about expand your comfort zone but not too much. 2) Mattress on storage boxes! Easy build and maximising storage space is genius. 3) Cargo net storage can you buy these at Walmart? If not where? Cheers.

But for a sleeping iam going to just slide in a mattress in the rear.i tried one before n it fit perfectly. I have my windows tinted and I have 99% eclipse curtains installed. I bought them @ Walmart. And have have curtains for the front n rear to install when sleeping. And I just used a tarp straps for the main hanger wear you run the rod through the curtains to hang up.just fished the tarp strap through. Then reinstalled the tarp hook then connected the tarp strap.makes it dark n nice n cool in the summer n nice n warm in the winter.
