Today we meet Dawn who lives and works in San Francisco, and like so many others there, she found she simply could not afford to pay the incredibly high cost of housing, what to do? She searched KZfaq and found out that living and stealth parking in her vehicle could work, even in San Francisco.

@@ianremsburg613 I doubt it. She seems very happy with her job, because she is doing what she wants to do and so is staying in the area even if it means living in a van. She could go live in a cheaper city and do a job that she hates. Then I'm sure she would be miserable. All humans are emotional unless they are dead. Some show it more than others and in different ways.

I think she mentioned a couple of times "and I'm not paying rent". That is the motivational statement in this and many other mobile living arrangements. I think that when people realize that they don't need to spend hours every week/month slaving and being humiliated at one or more jobs just in order to turn over their hard-earned income to a landlord, that ends up being very liberating. I am not living in a van myself since I own my home, however, the videos I watch are inspiring and I feel like telling people that we were not born to be slaves of any kind to other people. So we need to stop trying to copy the lives of others that put us in situations that eventually enslave us and our children.

My sister’s boyfriend bought a house he couldn’t afford because he believed that was what he “should “ do. And the real estate agent convinced him he *could* afford it so she could make a bigger commission. He earned a modest living as head of a small school maintenance crew. After a few months of being too broke to pay all his utilities and buy enough food because his mortgage payments were so high, he killed himself. I think about him every time I watch one of Bob’s videos and I’m sure his tragic story is just one of many.

Amen. Wish i could be with bob dee carolyn sueann sarah lee etc. Rtr. Group. My finances wnd husband wont let me. Love you all. I pray for you all. So just get out there and do it. Life is to short. You only have one life to live. I would be a nomad if i could. Experience the freedom of freedom. Save the rent money. I cant see making house payments for 30 yrs. Why. Why pay rent for 30 yrs. Well im forced to rent. Ive been locked up in apts. Renting for 47 yrs. I cant stand it. If i omly had a house to sell i would. All the moneys ive spent for 47 stinking yrs. I could of paid cash for everything. Be debt free. But o had no choice. Low paying jobs. Working long hours. Back to backs. All shifts. I was a slave. As everyone is in the workforce to put money im the rich persons pocket. We all are. We are working to pay taxes. The left over change is for what. The poor get poorer. The rich get richer. Thank you all.

Dawn, I think it is helping you that you have a nice-looking vehicle. In pricier neighborhoods, which tend to be safer (we think), if you had something old, trashy or beat up it would definitely be attracting attention from those high-rent paying (and probably not real happy about that) people.
