I am not a lawyer, but I would like to add a comment by a lawyer: "She is a law professor and she basically admitted that her university is in violation of section VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. She also just gave some damning evidence to the plaintiffs in that civil lawsuit against her university." Proofs clear like light from there published official works. and Dr Carol published her work 1 year before Dr Gay

what dirt? She cited a book? Academic papers aren't your own thoughts, they are other people's thoughts. The only way to "cheat" is to use someone else's writing and allowing the reader to assume it is your own words because there isn't a citation on the references page. Why are people acting like she did something wrong? So confusing.

Claudine Gay is a microcephalic defective. During pregnancy, a baby's head grows because the baby's brain grows. Microcephaly can occur because a baby's brain has not developed properly during pregnancy or has stopped growing after birth, which results in a smaller head size.

Not really. Harvard has a $50 billion endowment, hut the feds give them $625 Million per year. AND it's a tax free organization. The federal government can literally make it not exist. It ALSO take away that tax free status, and start taxing both the other money they get every year, AND tax their endowment.... At up to 37%. The government has All the power. Don't even think otherwise. Fun fact, the constitution doesn't give anyone the right to open any kind of business, or even sell things to friends. All corporations and organizations, including colleges, only exist it the government allows them to.

I served as a tenured faculty member at a research university for 34 years. I encountered only a handful of cases of obvious plagiarism among undergraduate students, one case in the graduate program, and zero cases among faculty coming up for tenure. In this context I view Gay’s record of lifting paragraphs and appropriating arguments without attribution as unethical in the extreme. She is not qualified to hold a PhD, much less a tenured faculty position. The fact that she is president of Harvard is ludicrous.

Yeah, about that. Much like the government, the president doesn't actually run anything. The *board* does that, including picking the president. They do give them some power over the day to day, but ultimately, the board runs things. And they All need to be replaced, or have all government funding stopped, and their tax free status removed. I'm so glad Dr Swain is standing up and stopping the damping of one of the, if not the, greatest ethical crimes in Academia, plagiarism. What angers me is that if Dr Swain was a white man, he would be publicly attacked, fired and his career ruined. They have her paper, so if it was plagiarism they would not make any allegations they would have definintive proof of plagiarism. Love Dr. Swain. Gay is a reprehensible human being passing off Dr. Swain's eloquence and thoughtful writings as her own. Surely this situation is grounds to sue for theft of intellectual property? After all, plagiarism is defined as the theft of an author's intellectual property. I would think this case would be a slam dunk for any lawyer looking to make a name for themselves. ** edited to add: The more I think about this, the angrier I get. Harvard is supposed to uphold the highest standards of moral and professional behavior, and yet the individual holding its highest position is guilty of a severe failing of morals. That alone gives lie to Harvard's supposed shining reputation. I certainly hope that business leaders can now see that Harvard now inculcates their graduates with ideals that are the antithesis of a free society and pass those graduates over in favor of young professionals graduating from other colleges with better values.

Truth be told, real academics don't need to plagiarize ever. Good academics have their own ideas, and can express them in a paper, no big deal. A few stem scholars or art (drama, music, acting, ect) scholars might struggle with writing part of research, but she's not in any of those areas so no excuses. She needs to get out of academia.

Your statement indicts many kids who are not of Grey’s ilk. Equal education was not a thing until government legislated it. Black schools were given old textbooks, crumbling buildings, non tenured teachers. What was fair about that? Affirmative Action never disrupted the status quo, which you benefitted from. It addressed the economic racism (and yes many of us who were older lived through Jim Crow and blacks being invisible. There are black geniuses. Too many blacks who could have helped their communities economically were relegated to Pullman porters. Were white people willing to let black students who were overqualified have equal access to jobs. Resoundingly, no. It may not have been overt racism but an upholding of the status quo. If a black person showered and entered a public park pool in a white community, he was ran out and the entire pool was drained and cleaned. His parents could not get jobs they were qualified for. His relatives who fought beside white soldiers were denied GI bill housing loans. Real Estate is how generational wealth is built. Contrary to what was deemed “reverse racism”, white people still maintained the top ten percent of wealth. But people who see others being given a fair chance after centuries of being denied isn’t reverse racism. It is justice in God’s eyes because people were not sharing opportunities with people who were not white. Have there been abuses? Yes - In government jobs lawsuits are being filed. I know of two white men hired in a government department who were seat warming placeholders. They were not given much work, came and went as they pleased. Paid as Managers but did not show up at work to manage. But no one said anything. Subordinates were given their work and promoted out. These white men often complained of being bored with nothing to do and would take three hour lunches. So tokenism existed not just for seat warming people of color, but for whites as well.

Of course I didn’t get in, but I managed to earned without plagiarism my BA, MEd, MBA, EdS and PhD., all in English and Education. It's been a terrible school for a while. Segregated dorms and graduations started about 20 years ago. Before that, the valedictorian of my class was a smart, beautiful, athletic girl with long hair, nice smile and a great personality. She got a free ride to Harvard and 4 years later, came out with her head shaved, fist in the air, wearing Kente clothing and claiming she was oppressed. They took away her logic, sense and turned her into a black supremacist. Damned near everyone I knew in HS that went to college came out racist.

I am retired now, but if I were still a hiring manager, I would not hire ANYONE under the age of 35 if they had attended an Ivy league university. Not sure I would hire older ones either. I worked with a woman (she would be over 70 now) who graduated from Brown, and she was a moron.

Did you notice that this "credible" News outlet didn't bother to use Dr. Carol Swain name. Dr Swain is a highly developed intellect. This News Agency does not want you to easily look up Ms Swains accomplishments. I'v enjoyed listening to her speak on many topics on several occasions, I always come away with new insight or appreciation for scholars, even a bit envious of her skills. I believe in what she represents, and I feel that I can walk Proudly as an American, even though I went to state school. Ms Gay makes me feel like a failure and that I represent the reason that She hates America.
