“Some people evolve with age, while others become more of what they truly are.” I don’t think that her 1st husband/second love had changed much. His going to pick her up from flight class was him going to *see* Instructor He after watching a short video shared by their daughter. That entire conversation (on the car ride back) was his verbal chastisement of Rose for learning to fly and dating her much younger flight instructor. He never asked her directly AND he was wrong - having assumed it all upon viewing a single video clip. His choice of words and tone with her were all based on his still present controlling nature/insecurity/jealousy. Rose handled his verbal vomit really well - I know you and how you think it’s sadly not that differently from when we were married or when you tried to take our daughter away two years after our divorce as I’d fallen in love with a man who still lives in my soul and was good with our daughter; what I do is my own business; I don’t need your permission or acceptance to live my authentic self; the relationship part of my life is not your business, period. And she conveyed all of that in 20 words or less🔥

He doesn’t seem to have changed to me he’s still the same insecure passive aggressive man the way he was talking to her about the young pilot in the car confirmed it for me
