He killed the last guy and had a large knife in his chest.I think they can at least tell the time of death by his blood and it would probably not match up with hers. So there you have it. Forensic analysis has come a long way and I am sure there is a lot more. Just my two cents.

Good Point. But again, this is a fictitious scenario. But I agree with you. Cops are the most suspicious people I have ever seen and I was a civil prosecutor. I did tax work and they would take the criminals out of jail and hit them with penalties for failure to pay tax on the cigarettes and other contraband they stole and or distributed. One time I had a terrorist who did the funding through illegal cigarette sales. He was the most evil person I have ever come across. You should have seen the way he talked to the judge. I had a FBI agent testify against him. And he was the most honest straight forward nice guy I had come across in a long long time. So dont believe all the bad press you hear about them. The terrorist was pure evil and he wanted to destroy us. Keep that in mind. @@LostLoveChronicles

The husband wasn't home, and had proof of not being home. He also didn't hire his brother. In the story his brother seems to be a professional. He didn't leave any proof.

Time of death would not be able to determine he died before her with the fire. On the other hand, there's no way they would miss the wound caused by a "large knife" in his chest, unless they were completely incinerated which would be impossible without accelerant, which they would easily find.

No. He's clueless till he found the diary. By then, there's been 5 AP. The story isn't linear. It goes to flashback of the diary everytime an AP is mentioned.
