@@rustyjsgarage1084he is showing the fuse has blown basically. The power isnt traveling through the fuse to the other side. One side will always still have power at some point. Either With key on or key off. I dont know why the other guy couldn't explain it for you. He must not know either.
@rustyjsgarage10846 ай бұрын
@filmart430 it's very simple. A Fuse has 4 parts to it, 2 blades, a body and a fusable link inside of the body that is sized to with stand the ampacity that is called out on the top of the fuse. Anything more than the given ampacity and the fuse is designed to get hot and melt in half or "blow" like you do. On the top of the fuse you will notice there are 2 small parts of metal, those are connected to the blades on the bottom side individually so you can take your test light or a multimeter and in your case you had better use a test light because I know for sure you won't be able to figure out a multimeter.... You test it against ground. If the test light lights up with the alligator clip connected to a good ground then you have found 12v DC electricity. As the fuse is designed, you will have 12v DC on both sides of the fuse unless it's blown, then it will oonly have 12v on one side. There you little crybaby, now you know how to test fuses.... Like I said, if you knew basic DC electricity, you would have known exactly what the guy was doing instead of trying to say some dumb passive aggressive shit to try and hide the fact that you won't go investigate Google at least just to educate yourself. BTW it literally says what he is doing in the title of the video.... You're welcome

@beymaster1022 ай бұрын
He wasn’t sending power, he was testing if the other side of the fuse was grounded. If it was grounded then that means the reason the fuse popped is still current. Plus test lights can’t send power, all you are doing is testing a circuit for power and ground 🙌🏽
@justcompton2 ай бұрын
@@beymaster102while it most likely will not hurt anything it actually does load the circuit with the 150-200ma from the incandescent bulb and you’re completing the circuit by touching a b+ side to ground or ground side to b+.

That test is "informative" but inconclusive. That little 4-watt bulb will only identify continuity (or not). Better to use a 55-w bulb. Stays off? No continuity. Glows dim? It's powering whatever is downstream. Glows BRIGHT? Short.
