1955 Ford car : round front turn signal lens and round radio and round heater controls on the dashboard. Last year for 6 volt battery. 1956 Ford car : front turn signal lens is an elongated shape. Dashboard items like the radio have a normal rectangular appearance. First year for the 12 volt battery.

Just a little info on the Ford FT engines. One of the reasons folks like the 390 FT is that it has a forged steel crank instead of the cast ones in 390 FE blocks.

Little history on the blue 53 Ford. 1) This truck is a 50 year anniversary truck for Ford from 1903 to 1953. 2) The truck has the Custom package. - Stainless steel drip edge trim above the windshield that covers the entire drip edge. - The boomerang on both sides of the hood around the Ford F-series badge. -The grill will have 6 (I think) chrome pieces bolted to the top of the center section. - The horn button on the steering wheel calls out the 1903 - 1953 and that it is an anniversary addition truck. 3) Interior behind the seat should have a cardboard covering. Please don't hold me to this being 100% true, the F-100 I restored had it.

Silas, when I was 23 I got all excited when someone had an ad for a 1964 Dodge panel truck. I mistakenly thought it was going to be an actual Sweptline panel. That's when I learned that Dodge kept running the 60 body in panel truck through the 60s. I was disappointed .

This was one of my favorite videos. Loved seeing all the old trucks. My grandfather had a Fraiser and my father drove it sometimes when his car was down. He said it was one of the nicest driving cars he ever drove ( well back then.) My grandpa sold the frasier and bought a 1953 Studebaker Commander. My grampa was kinda cool.

Silas, I had a Hillman Minx when I was in college. It got 55 MPG! I could start it with the key. The harmonic balance had a piece that had a grove in it that I could hook a strap into and pull start it. It also had a shaft that went in a hole below the bumper and the radiator. I would put the key into the on position crank the handle to bring the engine up to top dead center then kick the Handel down like a motorcycle and wala it would be running. Both the handle and the strap were rusty in the tire Hollow in the boot. Fun times. I usto run out of gas frequently because I could go SO far on a tank of gas. Once pushed and steered the car by myself up a hill & then costed to the gas station. Sold it to a school crossing guard who had her son remove the seats and saw the legs off of a wing back chair. She left it permanently parked at the school down the street from my house for years. It was her reading room.

My father owned a Hillman Minx in England in the early '60's - I have happy memories of being lulled to sleep in the back seat on the way home from the Welsh coast. His first car was a Ford Poplar, another popular English family sedan.

I happen to like pilot House DODGE trucks. I don't have a use for it or the panel truck right now. Pound truck is tempting because it looks pretty decent. And many states you can have it inspected by the state police or somebody like that and they will issue you a tag v i n tag😊 replacement. But it's no longer cereal tag so there's other requirements and it may be listed as a 2023. Or maybe a build project and then they have to look over everything if you don't like something you've done excetera excetera excetera. I enjoyed watching and seeing the vehicles thank you

My dad bought one of those heavily chromed 1957 GMC pickups with the big engine. He was a sucker for every next biggest, innovative thing car companies were marketing in post war boom America. He and a couple of buddies had a deer lease in the TX Hill Country, but wanted to try elk hunting in CO. There was speculation among them that the older 6-cyl pickup trucks wouldn't make it up the Continental Divide. There are old colored photos of the group standing beside the 57 GMC half ton in front of the Divide sign where they crossed. There were debates on tuning and fuel mixtures for high altitude driving. They hauled a huge tent, and all their camp supplies tetrussed in the bed as high as the cab. I'll never forget the discussions and debates on high altitude winter travel. He bought a set of tire chains for it in case of snow. My dad was the only member of the group to get an elk. He shot it long distance across a deep canyon where there were no roads. Had to hire a guy to pack it out on a mule. That meat was no different than the beef he raised. Company never guessed they were eating wild game pot roast.
