Honda plays tricky with their cargo numbers by listing "seat down" cargo volumes first, Toyota doesn't. They even list the captain seat 2nd row as their standard cargo space (not the one in the video), Toyota doesn't do this at all. They're trying hard with the numbers to compete with space but its incredibly different in reality. The Sequoia is significantly larger when you check both with seats in the same respective position. The sequoia is a much larger vehicle and if you seen them both side by side, you wouldn't even question it. Further, the Sequoia sells to a different crowd. Its not AWD, its full 4wd with solid rear axle and locking center and rear differentials. Its a body on frame truck chasis vs a unibody Pilot, essentially a taller passenger car. This is evident in the weight with the Pilot coming in at 4,600lbs and the 4wd Sequoia at 6,100lbs. Completely different vehicles at completely different price ranges. The Pilot competes with the Mazda cx-90 and Grand Highlander, not a tank like the Sequoia. @@electropentatonic interior cargo space is small in the new sequoia behind the first row. It’s actually comparable to the current 4Runner. Smaller. The sequoia lost 35 cubic feet behind the first row from the second the third gen. I have had a second gen for 11 years. Love it. The pilot has more room behind the first row back than the new sequoia I believe. Especially for third row passenger room. But I do understand the selling audience. However that new grand highlander is perfect. 35 mpg. AWD.

So the elite model does not. It has a removable middle seat from what I have seen. There is a sport trim model that does have captain chairs which comes with arm rest.

You can get regular captain chairs on the exl and trailsport with armrests but the removable seat is only on the touring and elite

It has 33 inches of legroom and 39 inches of headroom which is bigger than some full size body on frame suvs like the tahoe and expedition

What do you mean it’s small? It’s enough for 2 adults to easily be comfortable around there in the 3rd row. I have seen even 6’ 2” guy sit there and have space with the second row all the way back. I have a family of 5 and it was fine yesterday when we tested it. It can carry 7 adults comfortably.

It doesn’t have the space though. That’s the problem for some families. Tested it and my 11yo had issues sitting in the 3rd row. If you don’t need 3rd row or need it only when in a pinch for short trips then yea the Mazda is fine.

If you want Torque Vectorng AWD System can't get that on Odyssey. Many people don't want sliding doors or like looks of minivan. Odyssey not as rugged.
