USBloader GX supports SD card now don't need a HDD anymore :)

Wiiflow has for years as well... The Wii SD card slot isn't fast enough and can cause issues in games and slower loads so an HDD is still preferable.

You can use larger SD cards on it I have a 512 in one and a 128 in the other.

Agreed, TPO has a number of things listed I want to snag like PS2 HDD rails so my drive doesn't rattle in there anymore either 😂

Nice idea. But if you have your Wii hidden underneath your entertainment center where nobody would see the Wii or external HDD, would you want to go through the hassle and cost? Plus I am curious to see if the HDD could get hot enough to leave marks on the side of the Wii.

I’ve had issues with the Wii U overheating the hard drive depending on placement. Any idea if this helps dissipate some of the heat?

have you ever tried an SD card, or one of those sandisk ultra fit tiny usb drives?

SD card can have performance issues and USB flash drives are problematic on the Wii.

@@ArchadesGames r u sure?? I have 100s of games on SD and USB. the only time i ran into an issue was trying to boot kirby return to dreamland from SD (its a known issue). I moved it to the USB and it works just fine. otherwise i have never had a single issue playing 100s of gamecube, wii and wiiware games. just wanted to mention it cause its also a solution for keeping your wii clean looking and easily movable. same for wii u as well.. although i think you can only access the SD through vWii mode, so i pretty much stick to USB. I have a san disk ultra fit usb with 100s of games and everything works fine

That's great, I just go off the information the creators/maintainers of the loaders have stated in their documentation.
